Not trolling and the people that know me think I'm very intelligent.

I think Jimmy Swaggart is a wonderful man. Sure, he is human and made mistakes, but haven't we all?

I think he believes in The Cross and so do I.

Jerking off on a hooker >>>>>> banging a hooker

At least in the eyes of the Lord, I think. Happy Good Friday

controversy

You act like it was just a bunch of rumors. He was with a prostitute more than once, and he admitted it at least once. Then instead of taking responsibility and accepting the punishment that his denomination handed down, he left the denomination.

The fact that he is talented does not make him a wonderful man. I hope he has truly repented by now.

Jimmy also snitched on fellow minister Marvin Gorman, who had been cheating on his wife with several women.

Yes because no one is perfect, but I don't tell people they are going to hell if they don't get "saved" or judge people because they choose to believe in something different.

Several years after graduating HS, a guy I graduated with came to my house. He just stopped by to talk and then told me how he was enrolled in school at Jimmy Swaggart and how it has changed his life, blah blah. No big deal.

A few days later he comes back and he starts talking more about "brother jimmy" and before he leaves he goes out to his car and gives me a few CDs he wanted me to listen to that he think about my place in the world, blah blah. I am just thinking to myself "whatever dude you have no idea you are wasting your time".

It was maybe the next day or the day after he comes to my house for a 3rd time in a week and when I saw him at the door I am thinking "alright this dude is in full recruit mode". I had music on, I was listening to some rap frick this frick that music and he tells me something about how the music I am listening to is not what god wants us listening to.. I don't need anyone telling me what type of music I should or shouldn't be listening to. Then he asked "since you are listening to that, you should have had time to listen to those CDs of brother jimmy right?" and I told him no.

He gets kind of pissy with me, telling me about how Jesus is using him to reach out to me and I am ignoring it so I just told him "look, I respect your beliefs but I have my own beliefs that are obviously different from yours" and I told him that I had no problem being friends.. We can hang out and go drink a beer whenever (I threw that in because I knew he didn't drink because of his beliefs) and as he was leaving he told me that he would be praying for me that Jesus sends me another sign one day and I don't ignore it.

The way he did it was almost like it was "textbook". As if they taught them to first introduce their beliefs then next time tell them more about it and give them the CDs to listen to, etc.

This was 15-20 years ago and I thought Swaggart was a scam before that and while it didn't offend me.. I thought it was an insult to my intelligence.

So again, while I understand people make mistakes, not everyone attempts to look down on you if you do not buy into their beliefs.

Hiring a hooker while married and the very visible leader of one of the largest churches in the nation is not exactly just another mistake.

He is a snake oil salesman. He makes most of his money internationally, by making people think they have to donate a certain percentage of their income.

He is a lot more sophisticated than that, the majority of his income is from leasing real estate. Several buildings that were built with donated church money, are now leased as office space to the State of LA DEQ, a engineering company, and others, one building is leased out as apartments. He sold the unfinished dormitory building that is now the hotel to Mike Wampold for 4 million. He was the original owner of the property Perkins Rowe was built on, the huge plot of prime acreage he lives on at Highland and I-10 across from CCL is also worth millions.
