The rational part of a teen’s brain isn’t fully developed and won’t be until age 25 or so.

In fact, recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain’s rational part. This is the part of the brain that responds to situations with good judgment and an awareness of long-term consequences. Teens process information with the amygdala. This is the emotional part.

I believe that is the difference between a conservative and a liberal. Here we have definitive proof that liberals are too immature to vote.

I think there needs to be a voter IQ test. If someone cannot name the dates for the American Civil War and at least five presidents, not named Obama, Clinton, or Bush, no voting will be allowed.

I think what you mean is that no Democrats should be allowed to vote until 25.

I like it. Would make people appreciate voting more I believe. Theeefore making better decisions. Plus the liberals tactic of race baiting and gay and lesbian noise would be way less effective.

I'm all for this - nobody should vote who is not fully self-sufficient. BHO infantilized the new breed of US populace all the way up to 26.

We should follow that lead and make all 'adult' decisions have a 26 yr old threshold - obviously with exceptions for demonstrated adulthood performance.

Being fully self-sufficient would be good enough for me. But as long as you are relying on mom/pop/govt for your support, you should not have adult rights or privileges.

Let's send young people to war and not give them the ability to vote.

Liberals know about this brain development loophole, which is exactly why they prey on younger people.

Only military can vote under 25. How about that?

If you read the link and what I quoted them you’d understand why that is the only rational thing to do. I suspect most of you won’t be able to put those pieces together though.

If you do not pay taxes you should lose your right to vote. If you are on any government assistance programs you should lose your right to vote.

I wouldn't be opposed but I would be fine with 21 plus voter suspension if on public assistance.

What exactly is rational about sending very emotional teens into combat at 18?

Im for that too. Also women shouldn’t vote. Universal suffrage is one of the most asinine concepts on the planet.

Would you be in support of no military enlistment for those under 25? If not, why?

Well if you read the quote then you would know that irrational teenagers are more prone to doing things without thought of long term consequences. You know, things like charging up a hill into machine gun fire and jumping on grenades and shite. We need those kind of people to fight our wars. We don’t need them deciding the future of the country.

Talk about misrepresenting the information. It’s not an either or thing. Teens process through the prefrontal cortex too. And it's not just what part of the brain we use that's important, it's how we use use it and how developed and healthy it is.

They need to fix how they present this information.
