“If I had to go back, I’d find the best place to play college football, and then push for the NFL,” Booty said. “LSU wasn’t the best place.”

I think he meant he would have went to football straight out of HS if he could do it again. And at that time LSU wasn't the best place to go.

LSU wasn't the best place for Booty because he got benched for a better QB. Making the excuse that Dinardo was there when he got there is weak. He could have had three years with Saban and Jimbo, but he chose to pout and leave after one year with those two when he got benched for Rohan.
