Keller has great schools.
Ft Worth ISD isn't that great so you probably don't want to live in that area.

Northwest Ft Worth near the airport is the job location.
You can swing like Arlington or Irving or maybe Mansfield, but it'd be a haul. In my opinion, Ft. Worth is a better place to live than all of those places besides maybe parts of Mansfield anyway.

Honestly if missing the kids is part of the equation I would think Long and hard about the hours you will be commuting.

For that reason I'd be out.

Look hard at the area I meationed earlier then.
FWIW, that’s my neck of the woods, my job is a couple of miles north in Saginaw.
Having non interstate commute options are a godsend.
However being less than a minute from being able to go in all 4 directions on the interstate is damn fine as well.
Get an apartment in Fossil Creek or Lake Worth, get a feel of the place, and get in on all of the new development homes in the area.
Fossil Creek is the higher end neighborhood. A lot of my apartment hunting in Lake Worth led to some seedier places.
Personally I would endorse Horizons @ Fossil Creek, it was my community when I was getting settled and it looks like they just renovated the place. They were also highly flexible for my move out.
Be warned: with the current economic environment as it is, rental demand is high high high.
You’ll feel the pressure to find a house bigly, especially as all of the prime developments in the area fill up and they move further out.

Ft Worth is a cool town with very progressive urban planning policies for such a conservative town. I live in Dallas but have friends in Ft Worth and they like it. I have to deal with pretentious fricks in dallas but they have to deal with the Cowboy mentality in Ft Worth.....its very conservative/ good ol' boy. But you can find the scene you like in either city. if I worked in FW, I'd live there....no way would I commute.

Could someone tell him if driving from Libya to Sudan is worth it?

I was particularly impressed with the trail developments along the Trinity river, including automated bike rental stations as well as cafes and eateries with trail access as you work your way downtown.
To be honest, I’ve only ever gone to Dallas for two reasons: there is a theatre I like in Inswood that airs cult classics and remasters, and to the AA Center.
I get everything else closer to home.

Come live in Highland Park. It’s a great place for young families—wife and I are mid 30’s. We do make slightly more than $110k though. I cute little house house down the way just sold for under a million, so that is still possible. Bad news is, it’s only 1500sq ft and has foundation issues. Good news is, you could come hang out at my pool.

I could probably put you up in the guest house portion of my spread in Parker until you figure out what you wanna do.
Careful though. We got crazy bitches around here who tend to shoot folks.

Damn.
I didn’t realize they had that nice houses there.
My experience of Saginaw is almost exclusive on Main, and it comes across as a ratty dump (ALL EXPENSES PAID APT FOR 600!) whose sole reason for existing was, and remains to be, the train tracks and the BNSF interchange station there.

Tons of new subdivisions going up in Saginaw and Argyle.
114 is a clusterfrick at DFW and past Las Colinas after 8.

Stay out of Dallas. Lived there for seven years. Hated that fricking city. Plano is tolerable....actually quite nice.
Good luck. You'll need it.

You and the wife must be doctors or lawyers.
