CO poisoning at night if they were using any kind of generator or something. Remember that shite happened in a restaurant in NY?
CO Leaks are deadly and can happen anywhere like Long Island, NY in 2014

This plus a family of 4 with no obvious signs of foul play...big BS.
So what will they say when the bodies get shipped back to the family for funerals?

I'm going with CO poisoning.
The cops lying about whether or not foul play doesn't really make any sense, unless they intend to dispose of the bodies somehow. These people are going to be shipped home and autopsies will be done here, if anything appears suspicious.

Yep. Bodies will come home and questions will be answered.

poisonous gas leak, or similar (highly unlikely)
In my experience, gas isn't used in Mexico as much as here.
Just speculating, but if no fowl play, one would think all 4 were poisoned somehow

Maybe dad got sick of the whole damn bunch of them and didn't want to go back to Iowa, so he poisoned the burritos on the last night of vacation. But that seems like it would fall into the category of foul play.

Who knows honestly, lie again. It could certainly be something like CO poisoning but what are the chances of that? Pretty damn slim, especially in Mexico. A hell of a lot more likely the local police are either covering something up or too lazy to find the real reason.

Just say no to Mexico.
Christ, you’re not even safe staying in the resorts there since a number of them are serving adulterated booze, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

Reminded me of the NC Best Western "death trap" Room 225 story a few years ago
LINK
The CO2 was from a faulty swimming pool heater a floor below. All this to say you never know how it can get you but when it does, it does.

Just to confirm, you think the dad murdering his family via poison burritos SEEMS like foul play?

Did you happen to read the post I was responding to? The poster wrote that if there was no foul play, maybe they were poisoned somehow. I'm sure he probably meant some type of accidental problem that affected the air quality in the condo, but he worded it poorly. So I made a joke that went over your head because you didn't read the quote I put in my post for context.

Who the frick wants to go to Mexico? Honestly?

I would not want to be driving in Mexico. This area is pretty tame, but seriously, don't do it.
And renting a condo in Tulum? That just seems risky. Stay at a resort that has security.
Wow. What a sheltered and boring life you must live.
I know quite a few people who do this very thing every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year with no issues. We rent a car, drive to Puerto Aventuras or Tulum, get an amazing condo, eat local food, show ourselves around without a tour guide.
On second thought, just keep going to the touristy resorts...makes our vacation more enjoyable (and cheaper.)

This is obviously tragic, but it appears to be a freak accident or something. Some kind of gas leak, maybe.
I was just in Tulum last week and had zero safety issues. Had a great time, lots of Americans there enjoying the beach as usual. Most dangerous thing there was probably the ocean, lol.
