With a 4 loss season you would agree to extending O's contract another season? What's your reasoning for this?

They lost all their LBs when we played them and they still won by 2 TDs and kneeled in the red zone.

If we extended Zereaux one more year after going 8-5, I would seriously think about becoming a SLU fan... lol

NO.

Miles was let go and we wanted something BETTER. O's only potential saving grace was that he would not be "starting over", and was supposed to reinvigorate the program that was starting to stagnate.

Consecutive 4 loss seasons is NOT what we were after. That would be a failure, and definitely should not be extended. He needs to get over 30 wins in 3 seasons to merit being retained. If he can't get there, bite the bullet and start over with an up-and-comer.

Don’t think blowhards on this board have any say on contracts

8-4 this year with a bowl win would not be so bad, considering our schedule. If Miles Brennan develops well and the offense begins to click, I think o should be retained.
However, I think I would let the contract run out and then make a decision.

I do not think a coach needs to have 5 years left in his contract to recruit anymore.

On January 1st,

2019 his buyout = $6 million
2020 his buyout = $4.5 million
2021 his buyout = $1 million

Even if we were to lose six games this year, I have little faith the man would be fired.

IMO, Alleva would have a greater chance of being fired, in that scenario.

O could win the SEC and there would still be absolutely no reason to extend him.

Back in the day before The Rant and crazy people a 9-4 Record would have got you an Extension and Payraise. Now since Saban and Miles won NC's everyone wants to win one every year and its not going to happen.

No most Tiger fans that I know including myself Expect LSU to be a 10 win program competing for the SEC West each year.. the big problem with the blind loyalists and the pumpers they think 8-4 is acceptable.
