Seems like there hasn't been one of these "if O blah blah will you blah blah" threads in a while.

I'm about to the point where I feel give the man a lifetime guaranteed contract so long as it prevents more of them from being started.

Hopefully, Alleva has learned his lesson.

Alleva don’t want the Rosy Finch Boyz after him.

No. He got blown out by Mississippi State, lost to Troy, and ran off Canada. On top of that, he got shut out by Bama at home and got blown out the next year on the road. I want him gone.

If he goes 11-2, I'll buy one of those eaux positive shirts and where it to every game he's still the coach.

For me he has to go 10-2 in regular season and pull a top 3 recruiting class. Anything less we should dump the shrimp boat captain. He’s a historic loser and really doesn’t deserve the lsu gig. Horrible hire and embarrassment to lsu.

No extensions. 11-2 would be considered a buildup to a championship year. I don't think we're anywhere near achieving this with coaching staff. But if the stars line up and we end up 11-2, then I'll be right there to congratulate Coach O on proving me wrong.

Honestly though, I'd rather we hire a coach that is expected to produce championships, not just have decent season fall out of the sky. Sad how low the expectations are at a school that is constantly listed as top 10 program as far as athletics goes.

n offense?

Idk, you tell me

do you know how rare it is to have experienced offense ans defense at a program that puts a lot of players in the nfl?
if you're waiting for lsu to have an upperclassmen offense and upperclassmen defense, youre going to waiting forever. After 2018-19 we will be young on defense

we have a head coach that no one wpuld hire as a coordinator, let alone as a HC if he were on the market.
we have an oc that publicly stated that he didnt want the job. he will be recruiting players that werent alive the last time he was a full time OC.

LSU could win the NC next season and I still wouldn't want to give him (or any coach ) an extension. Don't believe in them. He has a contract, let it run out and then we'll talk.

Gerry Dinardo went 10-2 in his second year and won the Peach bowl over Clemson after taking over a program run into the ground (6 straight losing seasons prior to him taking over).

So no, we shouldn't even consider it unless he wins the SEC and competes for a championship.

I'm not out to bash Orgeron because I want him to succeed at LSU, but offering him an extension regardless of results after this year would be a bad idea.

You offer early extensions to coaches who are a hot commodity that other big shot teams will likely pursue.

I think it'll take more than one successful year for Orgeron to be courted by other big time programs. If Orgeron turns out to be a huge hire and returns LSU to glory, he ain't leaving LSU.

Joe Alleva did. But hey, you were one of the ones that thought he was a snake for using the arky job as leverage. And if no one wanted him, that makes Alleva even a bugger frick tard. He also gave Cam an extension, you know, the guy that wasn't calling plays.

thats a good way to lose a good coach. coaches are a lot like recruits in that way. they need to feel the love.

WTF has happened to LSU.. good gracious.

Alleva hired a Coach who was "one of us" changed the culture from competing for championships to just making it to bowl games! All because "he's one of us"

What major program would be coming after Orgeron? You think Miles got no respect after winning it all in 2007, Orgeron would be treated so much worse.

You offer early extensions to coaches at risk of being poached by other programs. If O wins a natty here, he's never leaving LSU on his own terms lol.
