If LSU goes 11-2 with a bowl win would you be ok extending Coach O 1 year?

Yes because that means one of our QBs has stepped up in a big way for this to happen.

Doesn’t he have a 5 year deal?

So he would have 3 more years

So why extend him?

If LSU wins a New Years Six bowl game, then he deserves some serious praise and a lot of crow will have to be eaten and I will have to be first in line and come back for seconds.

If O gets to 8 wins or more with our schedule and how young we are there’s no way he gets fired

Uh duh. That would be a major bowl win which we haven’t had since 2007. Holy shite it’s been forever

Sure, but one single year of success in his whole career....no extension. I'd need to see consistent success before considering an extension. One season won't do it. And it shouldn't for ANYBODY. This is how you end up in bad contract situations.

So with that said, if O wins 8 games, he'll get a 3-year extension from Alleva. Case in point:

This is where the expectation is.

No extension. Hopefully, Alleva has learned his lesson. No one else will pay him what we pay him now.

Charlie Weis should be a warning to all programs considering extensions. Awarded a new 10-yr deal midway through his first season after ALMOST beating USC.

1 year extensions aren’t a thing in college football.

With that said, fuch no. He gets 3 years. At the end we extend or we move on.

You don’t extend a coach that no one else wants.

Ridiculous we continue to lower the bar, especially for a coach with no proven track record.

WTF has happened to LSU.. good gracious.

No extension but I would be happy with that season.
