I’m rooting for the guy, but it’s a little tough to argue for him right now considering some of the things mentioned in this thread tbt.

Quitting on his team, setting the record for turnovers in a playoff game, only surviving the conference semis because he was benched. Those really tarnish a legacy.

Tbt his career is defined by

-MVP
-leader of greatest offense in league history
-One of a handful of players Top two MVP three of four years
-one of 6 players to lead the league in win share three times.

The MVP will help wash the stink off of him for the failures mentioned, for sure, but you’re as good at lying to yourself as you are everyone else if you believe that other shite.

He hasn't won MVP yet, boom.

Unless you're talking about the players MVP.

It is over. It has been over. It was done at the all star break. It could be the second most lopsided vote ever. Feel free to bump if doesn’t happen.

Side bar question:

Is Sam Presti’s drafting of 3 future MVPs back to back to back (KD-Russ-Harden) the greatest drafting by a GM in any sport ever? That’s just crazy to think about. Also drafted Ibaka the same year as Russ to boot.

Greatest and at the same time possibly greatest flubs.

Not going into the tax might have been the worst decision ever.

Trading James Harden was the worst decision made by a GM ever. I know he had just shite the bed in the Finals big time, but that core should and could have stayed together for years.

James was THE focus of that heat defense. Not Kevin. Certainly not Westbrook he had never seen anything like it. Was a brilliant move by Spo.

I think Portland fans would likely disagree with you.

#sambowie

Also Steven Adams is top 5 2-way center and is only 24.

Embiid
Cousins
Gobert
KAT
Jokic
Drummond
DeAndre

Then you add guys who play the five in crunch time like Horford, draymond, Aldridge and Steve O may be top 10 at best. And I like Adams a lot. But the center spot is strong right now.

Nah trading Harden for nothing is the worst move I’ve ever seen. At least in a draft there’s a chance a guy doesn’t turn out (in Bowie’s case injuries). Harden’s floor with OKC was super sub 6th man/really good starter. His potential was untapped and still really high.

I’d also throw in the Nets not protecting their pick (or only making it top 3) in the trade for Gerald Wallace was a very bad move. That pick ended up being Lillard

Oh and Moe Williams was basically dealt for Kyrie Irving.

It's up there, but the subsequent trading of Harden tarnishes that.
