Wow, they were really ripping up the rankings back then.
I never said LSU was elite at any point, but you obviously can recruit a better talent pool of students when you're ranked 20 spots higher

Agreed. Pretty disappointing to see.

You have Tier 1 which is the top 50 but the cream of the crop are the T14 (Top 14).
T14 is kind of losing its distinction with Georgetown and Texas flip-flopping between 14 and 15 the last couple of years. Makes 14 seem like an arbitrary number and that maybe they should go with T15. But of course Georgetown and UCLA were tied at 15 last year so maybe it should just be T13 now which has actually remained the same 13 schools for several years I believe.

I would definitely go to SMU over Baylor between the two. Same absurd price but I would think SMU has a better alumni base

How muchbdonthese rankings matter. I know several people who graduated from Loyola over the last twenty years who are doing very well in different states around the country.

But those rankings don’t speak highly of the high prices you pay at Tulane.
Private school. Public institutions that are ranked higher than a private one can and do often cost less, even though they are ranked higher.

I think this is somewhat true. For instance, Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham is never highly ranked, yet Cumberland grads do very well, particularly in Alabama but even in other places around the country. Bar passage rate is also pretty good. One of the best trial advocacy programs in the country, as well.
A lot of law school is what you make of it from what I have gathered in my law school career thus far.

I wonder if Harveston lawyer is going to weigh in on this one?

Damn. Alabama fell a spot to #27.

As a busIness guy I would love to go back to school and get my law degree, just so I can pass the bar and be able to do various legal things
Not much of a business guy if you think this has economic merit.

Southern law school will be in top ten when Helmut gets through with them.
