Asked if I like men, I would've answered "Why? Are you a homosexual?"

If you want the job, the correct answer is, “I’m not there yet, but I have much to learn.”
The key is always answer truthfully (not gay), but don’t let it hang as a weakness. Be positive about the possibilities and signal that you’re open to career growth.

But they probably do it to see how he reacts / answers to weird questions. Who knows?
That's not really a valid excuse.
I was a manager/executive for over 30 years. Anyone who asked such a question in any of the organizations in which I was employed would have been severely reprimanded or fired.
I believe that in some mouth breathing, knuckle dragging states like Mississishiti it's perfectly okay to discriminate against LGBT.
My simple question is "where the hell is that interviewers sense of decency and humanity?"

Apparently they also asked him if his mother "sells herself" according to Golic & Wingo.

“Man, it was pretty crazy, bro,” Guice said. “Some people really try to get in your head, man, and really just test your reaction and see what your reaction is going to be.
“I’d go in one room and a team would ask me, ‘Do I like men?’ just to see my reaction. They’d try to bring up one of my family members or somebody and tell me, ‘Hey, man, I heard your mom sells herself. How do you feel about that?’ Just random stuff like that, man, to see how you respond.”

Per ESPN
quote:
''It was pretty crazy," Guice said on "Late Hits," according to USA Today Sports. "Some people are really trying to get in your head and test your reaction. ... I go in one room, and a team will ask me 'do I like men,' just to see my reaction. I go in another room, they'll try to bring up one of my family members or something and tell me, 'Hey, I heard your mom sells herself. How do you feel about that?'"

The correct answer is “some of my best friends are men”

Seems like he had a good attitude about it and didn’t get his feathers ruffled. Inappropriate questions and fireable for most companies, but Darrius doesn’t seem too offended.

He'd probably get drafted higher if he said he is gay.

2 years ago the WNBA posed that question to a star player during their pre-draft process....The player answered no and she went undrafted.

Guice seems to get why they were doing it.
Posted on 3/8/18 at 8:23 am to Goldrush25
I don't care why they are doing it. It is borderline illegal but they did it in Indiana (Mike Pence home state) so may not be illegal.

The pussification of America continues.

If they were paying me enough money in three years to set myself and my family up for life you can bet your sweet arse I would answer those questions and never care. They could ask me anything they wanted. When did we become so sensitive that even football players can't be asked questions. Guess we'll be using rubber bullets for our military next.
I've been asked more insensitive questions by my friends while standing over a three foot putt on a 5$ Nassau bet. Damn sure wouldn't care if they asked me that before paying me millions.

Title VII does not protect sexual orientation though the Obama EEOC interpreted it that way. 26 states do not have laws making homosexuals a protected class. This whole “it’s illegal to ask that question” thing is a myth in most of the country. That’s why the NFL specifically banned that line of questioning.

It sure seems like they could find out what they want to know without insulting people.
Just in those two questions, they insulted him, his mother and all gay men. I just don't see why they need to go that route.
Trey Wingo was all kinds of fired up about it too. I only caught the tail end of the conversation while I was getting the kid off to school.

Sounds like such a Cleveland Browns thing to ask

At least if he is gay he won't be knocking up cleat chasers and losing all his money.
