Not sure what tournament you talking about but April 4th is when LaTour reopens.

Word I heard is membership will be $200/mo, $300/mo with carts.

Same thing I heard and the guy that owns ESH and bought it because he had a lot of money to spend or pay taxes on.

Well buying a golf course is a good way to show a loss

This rarely makes sense in practice. You spend a $1 and save $0.40 or less.

LaTour is one of the best courses in south Louisiana. The location makes a challenge to run, but It was hurt badly when the owner died right before it opened several years ago. I am glad to get another chance to play it.

The Monday qualifier for the Zurich Classic was held there. That should tell you enough but take it from somebody who's played both LaTour and TPC Louisiana several times...TPC's greens couldn't touch LaTour's. And there are a handful of posters here who can verify that.

It's a David Toms designed course that if the wind is blowing (and it's always blowing) it can play pretty tough.

The greens are more consistent than TPC for sure

The people who say it’s boring want to see more trees and a clubhouse. It’s a pretty tough course that almost always has a 15 mph wind blowing

When people talk about it, no one mentions specific holes or course details. It's always the location, the heat, and the wind. I get that a course in good condition sets it apart somewhat in the south. And maybe if it was in a better spot, people would have different things on which to focus. But overall, I have to agree with Croacka.

Thats not exactly what I meant if you're directing it at me. I've definitely played better layouts but the greens were always awesome. And the course is not very easy with the constant wind. On days when the wind doesn't blow, they somehow have at least a 5mph wind out there. And I've played it when there was a 3 club wind several times.

My reply earlier just meant to say it's tough but always in great condition. That's all.
