Well no shite, but that's the problem with comparing players from different eras.
That's not what you should be doing.
quote:
Chamberlain never played against somebody that matched him physically
This is the argument for him being the most dominate player in NBA history.
quote:
nd his stats are skewed by the fact that averaged 45.8 minutes per game and often played a full 48 minutes.
If anything that should've worn him down but didn't, another plus for him. And you can just compare their per 36.

Make room lol we already have room for maybe 1 or 2 more people

Imagine a shaq in his prime (50 lbs heavier than wilt) against russell, reed, petit, and a bunch of eddie haskells with tape on their glasses trying to stop him. What skews wilt's dominance is the fact that the league in his day had a handful of 7 footers. When Shaq played, every team had ONE OR TWO 7 footers. Shaq would have averaged 60 and 30 some years back then. The icing on the cake is prime Shaq MOVED like a 6-6 guy!!!!

You don’t have a fricking clue about what the league was then. A guy like him getting kidney punches and other issues I won’t go into.
Let’s get real, you are saying Wilt would be the same size today as he was the 60’s? Shaq’s best playing came when he was about 305 at seasons end. Not 330. When Shaq was in Orlando he was a great rebounder and shot blocker and decent scorer? Wanna guess what his playing weight was? 280.
When his weight went up, he was slow with little movement and Wilt would have killed him with quickness and swatted his shite more than what you saw Yao and others do that was his size.
Did you ever think that maybe what Wilt would have looked like if he would have had all those supplements and diet plans and personal trainers as the guys? They didnt have that in the 50’s and 60’s?
Then put Wilt in the 90’s and you think he would have stayed at 275 would be 275?
You can’t because like every other

GTFO!!! Wilt wasn't banging it out with 7-footers like Akeem, David Robinson, Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing, Dikembe Mutombo, Ben Wallace, Yao Ming, Dwight Howard, Amar'e Stoudemire..... Chamberlain's toughest opponent was 6'10 220 LB Bill Russell. You didn't have the "power forwards" back then to compete for a rebound with. Teams didn't run an offense through their centers either which freed Wilt up to rebound. BTW, Shaq averaged 24.6 point per 36 on 16.7 shots while Wilt averaged 23.6 per 36 on 17.7 shots. Shaq also has Wilt beat in FG % (.582 to .540) and FT% (.527 to .511).

And for what it's worth, Shaq dominate the Dream. Hakeem Olajuwon vs. Shaquille O'Neal
that’s a bias thing to look at because a lot of those games happened when Hakeem was well out of his prime and a shell of himself

Shaq is quite aware of what is going on with Wade down here as HC. If we can land him then I'm all for it, but I do believe he will find meaningful minutes hard to come by next season. Naz is far and away the most talented guy on the block and I've said I believed Bigby-williams is the starting center from day one next year. He'll be fighting for backup minutes..

Shaq AVERAGED 26-27 PER GAME while in orlando top 2-3 in the association. MORE than a decent scorer dumbass!!!! Shaq would have DESTROYED wilt and his 260 lb arse!!!!

quote:Stronger? Are you nuts. There is nobody in NBA history that could compete with shock in his 3 best years. He was just too big and strong. Nobody has been close. He was about 325 and mostly muscle.
Wilt was faster, bigger, stronger, and jumped higher. I love Shaq, but be careful here.
Wilt in his prime was not more than about 290.
Posted on 2/25/18 at 10:33 pm to airfernando
And shaq in his 3 most dominant yrs in la (3peating as finals mvp) was every motherblanking bit of 325 and probably more. Still ran and jumped like a 6-6 dude too. Shaq played WAY BETTER COMPETITION than wilt EVER did. But, but bill russell won 85 rings!!!!! Yep, there were 3 1/2 franchises in the nba back then, you figure one would dominate. Shaq would have stuffed the basketball AND bill russel's 6-9 245 lb arse in the hoop!!!!
Posted on 2/26/18 at 7:27 am to airfernando
Yes stronger. Read my link. Wilt benched more in his 50s than Shaq in his prime. He was also taller. He also was a lot lot faster.
That’s the point, I’m dispelling your misconceptions. Shaq is my second favorite player ever behind MJ, but people really don’t understand how phenomenal Wilt was. He once took Kareem’s sky hook out of mid air. He was like a basketball Bo Jackson.
