Brought my mom to her first hockey game Saturday night. Preds vs. Red Wings.
She asked what the "net thingy was called" that they're shooting at.
In my option moms get a pass on any dumb sports questions considering she (a) gave you life (b) wiped your arse when you couldn’t do it yourself and (c) hauled you to the ballpark countless times when you were a kid.

As the broadcast networks lean more and more on the Stats.Inc of the world for content, I’ve gotten more Most, Fewest, Highest, Lowest, etc. questions from the females in my life.
I refer them to their handheld cellular devices.

Watching the Super Bowl a woman asked me if Alabama was winning.

Not really a question, but that chick who went nuts because she saw "kkk" hanging at turner field was pretty ridiculous. The Braves starter had 3 strikeouts...
If it were a Boston game it might've actually been KKK.

In which country is newbootgoofin sucking 37 dicks in an hour considered a sport?

OP has been edited and I'm pretty sure the original said what's the dumbest question a woman has asked you about sports.

A lot of these are really reasonable questions if you didn't know
But....I heard one person ask what the difference between the wicket keeper and first slip was

Sports, sorta:
Why are there pumpkins in the train? (a question from a friend while watching a game a Minute Maid Park)

This is a stupid thing to be annoyed about, but I hate when, in conversation, people call a university by a term that means a different university. I actually had a coworker (a dude who didn't really watch sports) tell me how bad LSU was gonna get beat by "Florida" because they were ranked #1 when in reality it was Florida State that was ranked that high (in 2014 or whenever). I don't know if UF was even ranked at the time.
Leading up to the 07 championship game, I wanted to slap people who kept talking about "Ohio" vs. LSU.
There are plenty of recent examples I've heard: Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M, Michigan and Michigan State, OU and Okie State.
It's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Smalls : I was gonna put the ball back.
Squints : But it was signed by Babe Ruth!
Smalls : Yeah, you keep telling me that! Who is she?
Ham Porter : WHAT? WHAT?

"Why does he get to go to 1st base? He didn't hit the ball."

Sportstalk caller trade proposals.
I remember on Buddy D's show in the early 2000s, a caller asked Buddy why the Saints didn't offer Aaron Brooks and a first round draft pick for Peyton Manning.

These seem perfectly reasonable to me for someone who doesn't watch sports.

“Are they playing today?”
NFL Rewind showing a classic.
A. It’s tuesday at 10am.
B. It’s clearly marked “Super Bowl”
C. Joe Montana is shredding the Bengals?
D. Don’t you notice the differing video quality?

My mom knows her basketball pretty well, and she watches enough football to where I thought she had an idea of what was going on....but she shocked me when I had the Vikings-Saints playoff game on. The Vikings had the ball late in the game and were driving for the FG that gave them the lead with like a minute left, and they happened to show a shot of Drew Brees standing on the sidelines, and Mom asked me "Why isn't Drew Brees playing"?
Memo to Mom: This isn't the 1950's where all the players play both ways.

I had a friend ask me if Bobby Bowden was doing a good job.
This was a few years after he retired, and this guy was in Pike at FSU
