You should allow logic to take precedence over your emotions.
“Bad taste” and “tone deaf” are not reasons to forfeit common sense.

Your logic is flawed. I didn't say anyone should not have the right to sell or possess an AR.
I did say that kids team raffling one off is really in poor taste and they should rethink it. That is not being emotional or illogical. It is using common sense.

But, it's not.
How much would it cost to replace the grand prize, refund the sold tickets, and start all over? Where does that money come from? Can it all be done quickly enough to still achieve the teams financial goals? What do they miss out on if those goals aren't met?
It's completely illogical to have to consider all of the above, and more, simply to appease the emotional angst of complete strangers. Strangers that had no clue, and no objection, until a completely unrelated event brought it to their attention.
There is no "common sense" in eliminating a little league fund raiser that has been planned for months.

The discussion is about a kids team raffling off an AR right after Parkland. I think its in bad taste, completely tone deaf, and ridiculous to do that. This coach is an idiot i/m/o.
Right. You people...

Yep. They all use the same damn script.
My father in law won a scary, killing machine 12g shotgun from one of these raffles a few years ago. Luckily for us, it hasn't gotten loose yet and went on a killing spree.

If a team at the school that got shot up was raffling one, I might agree.
A school in no way affiliated with the florida school raffling one thousands of miles away? Why should anyone find that in poor taste?

Or, perhaps, common sense would dictate that a rifle cannot kill anyone or anything without someone or something operating it?

“AR15 kills seventeen so you raffle a gun for child sports? Lord, people wake the hell up. Justify all you want but you are wrong, period.”
These are kids trying to raise money to help themselves get over this event. Lord, you should support these fine kids. Think of the children! If you don't buy a ticket to help these poor youth, you are evil. Exclamation!

Dumb...they can do whatever they want but I call out that coach's judgement ...and I actually own an AR and several others.
Well that makes you stupid and a hypocrite.
Congrats

Would it be inappropriate to rent a moving van after some Jihadi drove it into a crowd of people?

You're the one running your mouth about it. People don't agree and they called you on your bullshite. Instead of taking your arse beating and moving on, you decided to double down.
You're worse than the Democrats. At least they're mostly transparent about what they want.

LOL- auctioning off an AR less than a week after a school shooting to support a school is trashy af. If you can’t see that then you can’t be helped.
