Uhhh... it’s the best song in the movie. I said it when the cast was announced. It’s great they brought back James Earl Jones for Mufasa, but they also needed to bring back Jeremy Irons for Scar, but they didn’t because they want all the lions voiced by African Americans, which I didn’t really care about but now I do because it’s resulting in the best Lion King song being taken from the new film because they probably did tests and realied the new Scar voice actor can’t even come close to the Irons performance.

Probably. It’ll trigger the kids even though it’s obvious symbolism because they’re villains. Be Prepared has to be one of the best villain songs ever.

We actually watch Lion King at our house yesterday after breakfast. We put it on for our 2.5 year old son, and he just ran around the house playing while Mom and Dad watched the entire thing.

And yes, Be Prepared is the best song in the movie and the best Disney villain song ever.

Spin-off...is the opening of the Lion King one of the GOATs for movie openings? I think so.

Disney realized they make billions off movies they already made, which themselves aren’t original. Lion King is Hamlet with animals.

First off that song is terrible.
Secondly, had no idea there was a new Lion King film.

And lastly, the Lion King is one of the only Disney movies my kids have watched that they just do not care for at all. Probaby b/c my boys don't really care about a musical where it's most memorable scene is that of an uncle murdering a father/brother.

Wait, this isn't a sequel, it's a remake? Of a cartoon movie aimed at kids? That seems like a dumb idea. Is the problem that parents are passing down their DVD copy to their kids and so Lion King Blu Ray sales aren't high enough?

Lol.

Whole generations grew up on family movies with drama and well done scripts and villains and symbolism and they're as awesome for a 3 year old and a thirty year old alike.

I'd bet they cut it either because they deemed it too scary for kids or racist or some dumb shite like that.

Disney killed Star Wars. Now it's going to try to snuff out its own IPs as well. This movie has nonsense written all over it. Looking at the cast list they're adding characters and changing the plot.

I enjoyed the new jungle book. I even thought the new Beauty and the beast was OK, but neither of them can come close to holding a candle to the amazing originals.

Be Prepared is amazing in the original. The last 30 seconds or so are really epic.

The hyenas marching in sync like Red Square or Berlin is awesome too.

RIP Be Prepared.

Everything said so far is that it is going to be like The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, in that it isn't going to change the plot, but be a live action version of the original.

I was skeptical already when I heard Beyoncé was cast in this movie . Now I’m really debating on if this movie will do the original source material any justice by them eliminating Be Prepared.

And no point doing a boycott, the film will still make a billion dollars.

The lack of quality original content in movies today is really disappointing. Studios have basically caught on that they can just stick with a brand/series until the brakes absolutely are beat off and still make tons of money.
