Thoughts On Communism

Can a nation be free if it oppresses other nations? It cannot. -Vladimir Lenin
Many verbally express that Communism looks good on paper, but never works out when put into action. I was wondering if others could give better insights into why communism would not work well in the authentic world.I verbally express that it would not work in the authentic world because it takes away motivation to work. Why work when the regime will provide for you? when the society becomes slothful who will do the work? that is my input and thank you for all of yours.

It’s the stuff of books, not message boards. So I will just say that any philosophy that is in opposition to human nature ( self interest for starters) can not by definition succeed. That is, it is doomed to fail from the start. When people say “ it looks good on paper “ what they are really saying is “ wouldn’t it be pleasant and good if that were the nature of man”.

This is a bunch of garbage. I'm not saying our country should oppress others, but there are plenty of instances of might makes right in history, and the oppressors and their free citizenry did very well for a very long time.
Edit: This is more accurate: "If you want freedom for your nation, and morality doesn't matter to you, continually oppress other nations and steal their resources."

Minorities too. The freak show open communists running around college campuses would be stuck in factories and coal mines. Just like the Soviets, the politburo would be full of white males with vacation homes on the ocean while the masses toil in poverty

Only "works" when implemented and sustained by force. Human nature is to look out for #1, that's why capitalism has made mankind more prosperous than at anytime in history.

When people fail to go to work... somebody has to step up. It begins pissing people off... and it will collapse.

Putin claims that Communism is very similar to Christianity on this short video clip about freedom, justice, brotherhood and equality, so maybe Jesus is partly responsible.
