This isn't what happened with OP, but Cox has shut down my internet twice over torrents I downloaded and didn't realize were uploading. It was no big deal after I called them but the torrents have info in them showing they are tagged

Their logo on your screen was Cox redirecting all your requests to that warning page, which they CAN do from their end WITHOUT installing stuff on your machine that monitors your files. And they probably did that because they monitor common torrent ports and you were still torrenting.

Been through that. They shut you off the internet until you call and “agree” to remove the torrent. They even acknowledge they have no way of telling.
Any ways, you get caught enough in a certain time period and they will have to force you out.

You can't really find anything manually, you have to use an indexer, which is like a search engine for Usenet. There are free indexers, but you get better results with the paid ones. I actually ran my own personal indexer for a while, but it's a lot of trouble, needs tons of processing power, and the results are only as good as the free ones anyway.
