I think the most likely answer is they don't want to alienate themselves within the DNC power structure by showing support for Trump.
It just seems that if you want to be taken seriously about the constant whining for "black issues", you might want to honestly acknowledge the successes when they are there.

Maybe because their constituents don't want jobs?
Posted on 1/31/18 at 1:23 pm to BeeFense5
Why didn’t they clap? Bc they don’t really want blacks to succeed on their own.

Yeah, they want to keep their constituents impoverished for easy pandering and guaranteed votes
This. Can't have two masters.

You assume that politicians prioritize issues of their constituents over retaining power.
I would never make that assumption

The real question should be....
How do honest hard working black Americans feel about this?
There were countless times I thought, why aren't the dems standing for this??
Trump - average American will save $4000..
Dems - pissed, sitting on hands.
For all of you dems, rich or poor, $4000 is a lot of free annual money.
What did you think watching this??? KNOWING that NOT ONE DEMOCRAT voted to save you this money....not one. They refused to vote to save you money, and then won't even cheer when it turns out you are indeed saving money.......
What do you dems think, watching your side pout at the other's provable success?
PS - frick any liberal or dem who ever says Trump is divisive....... last night was the very definition of divisive. Good or bad, we will NOT CHEER........................................
last night was a fricking organized high school cafeteria...... (edit - democratic) ELECTED LEADERS --- act like 16 year old girls..

I thought it was more because they are of the opinion that the low unemployment is because of Obama and not Trump. They think Trump is taking credit for something that Obama did. Not saying I agree, just the talking point I've seen.

Any Particular Reason The Black Caucus Didn't Stand Up For Lower Black Unemployment Rates?
You know why
We all know why
Bc they woke

Van Jones said it’s because Trump is just taking all the credit from Obama

Democrats have made an industry out of keeping as many people as possible reliant upon government support.
Do you think that is resonating with the right people though?
I've never understood the allegiance to the Dems when the Dems attack the church and support abortion which I thought were not popular strategies with the black people I grew up with (highly mixed HS). They would get pissed if you attacked their church or worshipped at the altar of abortion.
I've never understood the dichotomy.

This.
And the fact that black unemployment has been going down consistently for 7 years. Did Trump (or any of you) credit Obama for those 6 years? But you expect black people to credit Trump?

I don't recall anyone mentioning this until now.
Good for Obama and Trump. Good news is good news.

How could you be so mad that you don't even applaud good news about an issue you have supposedly run on for years?
Because if blacks as a group ever discover that they can be self sufficient, the Dems are done!

The allure of the victim complex supersedes rational thought for many people. That's really the bottom line. In real life, most black people live/champion conservative values. But the left has exploited the sore spot that is the history of slavery and turned it into a test of your blackness if you vote a certain way or not.
Combine that with common groupthink mentality and the nationwide proclivity to eschew doing due diligence on candidates, and there you go.

Agreed. And really it’s just a byproduct of the improved economy. Not any improvement of racial divides or anything along those lines.
The other thing is it’s not helping them as much as other demos. Wages are still pretty stagnant and they’ve barely moved for the bottom third, many of which, are black.

I have yet to meet a black person who doesn't hate and despise everything that Trump stands for. It has become an ingrained sense of despair and resignation in that community.
