Not only did they not stand up and applaud, they looked legit angry.

How could you be so mad that you don't even applaud good news about an issue you have supposedly run on for years?

Yeah, they want to keep their constituents impoverished for easy pandering and guaranteed votes. And because Trump.

Based on their matching attire last night I would say they were uninterested because Trump hasn't lowered the unemployment rates for Africans in South Sudan and Liberia.

I really think this is most likely the only answer.

Because they don't really give a flying frick about black unemployment. They only care about black votes. Black people getting jobs left and right doesn't help their victim card politics.

My assumption is that they have no real power or sway in Congress outside of racial accusations. They get paid a lot of money to carry the Democrat banner and not cause a fuss. They probably had orders to be unified with the other Democrats by not recognizing Trump's claims.

They don't give a damn about their constituents. They need their districts to remain poor in order to guarantee that they vote democrat. People getting jobs and improving their circumstances will make these hack job "politicians" obsolete.

Because their entire reason for being is jeopardized if that message gains any traction within the black community.

I don't think it's that. I think the most likely answer is they don't want to alienate themselves within the DNC power structure by showing support for Trump.

An employed person is usually far less dependent on government support.

Democrats have made an industry out of keeping as many people as possible reliant upon government support.

Ergo, they were irked.

Because if they keep their peasants poor they can stay the Black Caucus.
