The test of the Agni 5, which means “fire” in Hindi, is India’s fifth such attempt, according to the New York Times. India’s last missile test took place in December 2016.
Shortly after Thursday’s missile test, China’s state-owned newspaper the Global Times published a column arguing that India’s test “poses a direct threat to China’s security as well as a big challenge to the global efforts of nuclear-nonproliferation,” and reportedly called for increasing China’s military presence in the Indian Ocean to counter India’s presence there.
According to the Global Times, India’s missile test took place one day after India’s joint sea drills with Japan in the Indian Ocean

They share a border. Can’t they just, like, kick a missile and hit China?

We are so close to WW III that it isn't even funny. Government around the world know that we are on to their corruption and they can feel control slipping away and they are in a panic. They are willing to cause a world war to keep control of the masses. It is coming.

How shitty is India's arsenal if they're just now testing missiles capable of hitting China?

Good. Spread their navy thin so they can't dominate the South China Sea.

They are good at rocketry. Was this not known by some?

China isn't appreciating the irony of their declarations regarding nuclear non proliferation, I imagine.

There is nearly 1500 miles between China's densely populated areas and India's border. They probably had the tech for some time, but waited to unleash it, as the Chinese have been getting very close with the Pakistanis and have their own excursions in Central Asia.

India fought a disasterous war with China in the 60s. The border remains contested, and India has spent the last ten years building up their infrastructure to ward off further encroachments.
At this point, China is a bigger and far more serious rival, than Pakistan.

They don’t do introspection.

We can use a relationship with India to our advantage with China and Pakistan.

Their foreign policy is a wonderful example of double speak. You shouldn’t, but we should.
Don’t destabilize the region, the DPRK, but don’t call us out, if we do.

I've said for awhile WW3 will be in the pacific theatre and Middle East. Russia/China are major players in this and their allies have been pretty bold lately (Iran, North Korea, Turkey, Syria). Our allies in the region are starting to get nervous and preparing for defense.
This one won't be fought in Europe. Most likely very little European participation as they have no militaries other than England and France.
I see it being between 2 alliances. One will be Russia, China, NK, Iran, Syria. Maybe Turkey but them being NATO might keep them out of it.
The other will be US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan, India.
If the war stays conventional (non nuclear, God help us if it went nuclear) you'll see the US naval fleet split between operating in the western Pacific concentrating on defending Japan/South Korea and the Indian Ocean. You'll see the ground troops clash in the Middle East as Chinese forces move westward and Russian ones southward. India will move northward supported by US troops and airpower. China will attempt to invade Japan and SK. No ground invasion will take place in China or Russia, or India. Too many people and too much land. The goals of each country will be
1. China- take control over Japan and the entire pacific theatre. Assert themselves as the new military power to counter American dominance
2. Russia-regain control over the former Soviet Bloc countries.
3. Iran-destroy Israel and Saudi, gain territorial control for new Persian pipeline to Europe.
4. NK- cannon fodder
5. Syria- restabilize their country and consolidate power.
The goals of the US and its allies will be strictly defense and maintain status quo. Most of the fighting will occur in nations caught in between rather than on the ground of any of the 4 superpowers (India, China, Russia, US). The ground war will be difficult against both Russian and Chinese forces. The US would fairly easily maintain control over the Indian Ocean with our navy. China could be a headache in the Pacific Ocean with our naval forces spread out.
There's a winning strategy there for sure for Russia/China. They can beat us in a ground war, we need India to beef up its military and allow Japan to rebuild theirs particularly their Navy.
