Shrimp Basket on Perkins isnt going to last long unless they get new management. People are walking out because no one ever comes by to take their order or the food takes 30 minutes to come out

Baton Rouge, for a city its size, is confounding with the amount of places that are “cursed” and won’t make it. It’s been over 5 years since Fox and Hound closed and has been vacant. The former Calendars on Perkins is another one that can’t shake its past and remains turnover laden.

The sign for Romans on Perkins is gone so I'm assuming they are closed.

Good. Went to Romans a while back and it was insanely expensive. The food was absolutely terrible too.

Roman’s is moving to the shopping center on Bluebonnet with BWW and the new Rouse’s. I saw the sign in the section where Mi Padre’s is located. Don’t think it’s open just yet though.

That little section of Sherwood seems cursed. The 2 replacements for Uncle O's didn't last but a few weeks. It makes no sense considering how much traffic volume that area has. Yet Podnuhs somehow hangs on.

My favorite use for that space was a rainy day, don't want to get caked in mud, parking spot for Rum House/Olive-or-Twist, I'm ok with it shutting down.

Lucy’s and now Lava Cantina, what’s wrong with that location? I mean, it’s on 3rd street
Lucy's was killing it when it was the only 'club' down there . They started to fade when the first iteration of The Office opened, and then City Bar knocked them out of the night life game. Lava Cantina probably looked at the numbers Lucy's was pulling when it was serving as both a restaurant and a club and overpaid dearly for that space (and they also bought Roux House).
Roux House they don't even bother to open anymore, and per their marquee their next event is some wedding in September.
Another 3rd street cursed location seems to get better with every iteration though,
BTR > Draft House > 3rd St. > Punchers

Both of those physical locations are frustrating to get to with BR traffic.

Some restaurant named "Sam's" moved into the spot. By the time they had a "Grand Opening" sign plastered on the place, there was a sign for purchase for a real estate company.
Did they even operate as Sam's for one day?

I don't think so. I drive by there almost every day. The Dunkin Donuts is turning into a BBQ place.

On Sherwood? Isn't that right next door to Podnuh's?

Yep. The building has been repainted and there's already a sign up

Drove by Canefield Tavern on Nicholson today and I’m not sure if it’s open anymore. The $5 burger banner is gone and it didn’t look like anyone was inside. It was about 6:00. Their website domain is for sale too.
