I would barely consider that beer a sour.

IPAs aren't my favorite, but I certainly wouldn't call them terrible. I could drink Juicifer all day.

the IPA hype

I think you're a little late with this thread. I feel like the "IPA hype" has quelled somewhat in the past couple of years.

I don't like sours.
I don't like all the expensive monk made beers from Europe either. I've tried some very expensive bottles too.

Love me some IPAs

Generally not a fan of the IPAs you find in the south or west coast. More into Texas reds, stouts, porters, etc. so I didn't always get the IPA craze that so many beer aficionados seemed to be all about.

But I recently did a drinking brewery hopping tour around Vermont and New Hampshire and Holy shite there are some delicious hazy NEIPAs up there! Everything is subjective but I totally get it now.

Sours are ok, but IPA’s are trash. Why would I want a beer that tastes like tang and lawn trimmings?

There are a lot of bad IPAs out there, many of them pushed by the "big beer" owned breweries.

Also, IPAs are best fresh.

I still prefer Quads and Stouts overall, but a nice fresh IPA is good on a hot summer day.

IPA's are the UHT milk of the beer world, designed for storage life not taste, how the hive decided they were the "in" thing is beyond me.

Not my thing but I will drink it if it is free and cold.

It's stout season.

I'm trying to drink as many varieties of Even More Jesus as I can find.

It took me a couple of years of trying IPAs to like them. It kind of reminded me of my 1st year of drinking any type of beer as a teenager.

I've found a few IPAs that I actually enjoy the taste although I very rarely will drink two of them in a row. I'll usually get one of those 6-pack samplers from Kroger with one of them an IPA.
