Was talking with some baws and realized LSU basketball just doesn’t haven’t a culture of tailgating, fun, and fellowship.

I was honestly the only baw who slipped in with a pint of Jim.

The product plays hard but it isn’t exciting enough to go raucous. We need to go the lsu way and have a drink

We used to actually do this for certain games back in the 80s when Daddy Dale was our coach. Kentucky games were always huge,as was the Loyola Marymount game and UNLV a week later. And don't forget playing (and BEATING) Georgetown in the Superbowl.

Yes, when LSU basketball gets going, all kinds of crazy fun begins to happen all over the place.

On a related note, does anyone remember seeing a group of students from the mid-80s who used to wear T-shirts to the games calling themselves the "Front Row Lunatics"?
Coach Wade has his work cut out for him, but he's building excitement about the basketball team like we haven't seen since that man from Minot, North Dakota ran the team! (In the near future, I'll enjoy taunting all my friends with whom I grew up in Kentucky. We'll be crushing Big Blue in just short mtter of time.)

A beer garden or something similar would do wonders for the gameday experience.

Myself and many others are not Alcoholics/Addicts and do not need anything to put us in an alternate state of consciousness.

We can handle LSU Athletic events clean and sober.

If you're one of the many cretins that can't, seek substance abuse counseling.

Don't come on here bragging about and promoting your addiction.

Hard to do when you leave the office to go to half the games. Saturday’s might be doable but the weather sucks a lot in Jan and feb

I was there yesterday with 10 of us, tailgating before game. We had char-grilled oysters, jambalaya, boudin, and grilled chicken. Plenty of stuff to keep us warm both inside and out. Then we headed to the game to join 13,000 other fans. We drove 70 miles and had a great day, the only downside was that the tigers didn’t win the game.

We’ve tailgated for a bunch of games over the years. They’ve mostly been Saturday games, but I’ve taken days off work for weekday Kentucky games to tailgate. I have the want to make LSU basketball great again, baw.

100% correct.

Basketball crowds are supposed to be a little bit nasty. Current LSU basketball crowds apparently have forgotten how to act at basketball games. Zombies.

Last night, from the upper section. I singlehandedly started the "ref you suck" chant; my son joined in, and it had a snowball effect and soon the whole arena was chanting it. Get off your arse and exercise your vocal chords. People actually started streaming out with several minutes to play.

As to Wade, this team was picked to finish LAST in the conference. He took over a team that WON ALL OF TEN GAMES last year and has already surpassed that. He has done a remarkable job, to say the least. Anybody criticizing Will Wade doesn't know basketball, doesn't recognize hard work and X's and O's acumen, and can go frick themselves.

LSU needs a basketball culture. Other than the students, the fans seemed confused on whether or not to make noise. I'm sure that'll come with time and wins. It would have been nice to have a rowdy arse crowd there last night, regardless of the outcome.

It almost feels as if the fans don’t make noise when the opponent has the ball on offense because they’re not sure if they’re allowed to.

Newsflash: it’s just like football. Yell, clap and make whatever noise you want. Even right as the game starts. It’s all good.
