Never been on a cruise and never really heard good things. Is there one that is high end and not trashy?

I have been on over a dozen of them and enjoyed every one. As far as the quality you usually get what you pay for.

There are plenty and the thing they all have in common is that they aren’t cheap m

Yes, non-trashy cruises exist. But the majority of people cannot afford them. Which is why they aren’t trashy.

Yeah. The don't sail out of New Orleans, Galveston, or Mobile, though.

Yeah, especially not the four or five night Carnival.

You do realize a normal stateroom for a family of 4 on a 7 night Disney Cruise can cost north of $10k? I’d call that “Not Totally Trashy”.

Most aren't "trashy"

Anyone who thinks all cruises are trashy based on a 3-4 night Caribbean cruise isn't very travel wise

Crystal is not trashy and expensive enough that I've never cruised with them, though my parents have.

Celebrity - we did them 3 times and they were not trashy at all. A bit older crowd, not ancient but few kids or teenagers either. Not terribly expensive.

Carnival - did them once, pretty trashy.

You don't want to go with the cheapest cruise you can find.

Viking is outstanding as is any river cruise in Europe or specialty cruises like fjord cruises.

Check out Silverseas and Oceania. My parents have been on a few of these. I think they said Silverseas has outstanding food and Oceania has more stuff to do. The ships are smaller so they can get to more remote ports. A lot of times the price includes business class flights from a major airport. They did a Baltic Sea Silverseas and the boat was full of Russian and ME guys with multiple younger women. The higher end boats are not exactly a young crowd either.

I think people say this because it has become cool to bag on Disney. I’ve been in several cruises and while it’s not my thing, the Disney cruise was by far my favorite.

I've been on tons and many of them were on the trashiest of all, Carnival. I had an absolute blast every single time. If you are so full of yourself that you can't be around people who are not exactly the same as you then you will probably NEVER find a cruise line you like unless you get a suite and never leave it, which completely defeats the purpose. Pick a cruise that fits your budget and travel wishes and go for it. It is what you make of it, I promise.

I will never understand anyone who pays for a Disney cruise. I could take the cost of that cruise and go to Disney World 2 times. I'd much rather cruise on another line and save the money to go to Disney World at some point later. If you aren't a huge Disney fan then what is the point of going on their cruise line and if you are a Disney fan, wouldn't you want to go to the parks!?
