So depressing

My take.

I think the BOS are just pissed cause they know O is incompetent. Why waste your energy on a coordinator any longer that O doesn't want and that could sustain O's tenure here.

Flipside is O is the coach, O wants to be successful so let him have it his way in order for him to be most successful in his opinion.

I think Ensminger could be a fine Coordinator. I think too much is actually being made of the coordinating.

The problem is how much Ensminger is going to cater to O's simpletons and/or fight to make this offense successful the best way Ensminger knows how.

Either way, its a brutal schedule, lots of talent lost, grooming a young qb... the immediate future is bleak and the lack of energy outside the program is taking a serious toll on the program.

you do if it is guaranteed. getting another job has no effect on the 1.7m he is going to recieve

Fine. I didn't record the game, but I'd like to see some evidence of O sending someone in with a play or communicating with Etling. Otherwise, is a very sketchy rumor.

How many false stories have been latched onto as truth the last week?

oh, i have no clue if it did or didn't happen.

just pointing out that the headset to the booth isn't necessarily where he would be sending the plays (because they would then have to come back down from the booth to the field anyway)

Let's see how Tenth Tiger spins this through his "sauces" to make you guys happy

The head coach that makes sure to let everyone know he is the decision maker and that things will be done his way admitted he did not know which rb was starting the game. That's a fact, there is nothing to spin.

Your attempted justification of the play call that nobody asked for is spin.

Orgeron is an egotistical child. Nothing different from his OM days. No surprise here at all to me.

there had to be something more to the story both ways.

If LSU had dirt on Canada, he's fired for cause with no buyout.
If Canada had dirt on LSU, he holds out for the entire $3mil of his buyout.

they met awful close to the middle.

meaning both sides probably had sufficient reason to give up over $1mil to just settle this thing and move on.

I'm sorry. I do not believe this part.

I'm not saying the OP was not "told" this. I just do not accept everything said as fact and I do not think this is true.

It is a common complaint and a very uncommon occurrence. Might it have happened a time or two? I suppose. But, not often.

A head coach can "handcuff" the plays called (see Troy). Or, call for more "rushes" and fewer "passes", etc. But, to hear a call, change the call, etc? Nah. Not realistic for more than a play or two.

Save it dude, the hate for Orgeron is so intense that most of the posters are willing to believe anything that this guy says about him that is negative.

If the Florida thing is true, I think Orgeron's call to keep Etling in was right....You are up 17-3 in the third, why on earth would you tinker with what was essentially working at the time? It was not as though Florida was an offensive juggernaut

As others have pointed out, Canada is getting 1.7 no matter if he gets another job or not. His 3+ amount would've been offset by whatever he makes at another job, correct?

Not discussing who is right and wrong in the situation.

Discussing what drove them apart.

Actually, he may have just wanted it to be over with so he can move on. Another issue may be the terms of the buyout. I'm willing to bet the buyout ignores any wages he earns elsewhere, so he can go coach at a different school and still make the full buyout amount, whereas being fired, his new wages would just be subtracted from what LSU owes him.

Doesn't matter if they're an offensive juggernaut, necessarily. If UF's defensive staff is adapting to your offense, they'll stop your offense more often and more quickly. That translates to more three and out situations.

It stands to reason you keep doing this, and your defense is going to be out there more and more. If you keep giving them the ball back more often, sooner or later they're going to break something or they're going to score on a sustained drive as your defense tires.

no?

Canada wanted the blowout. To prove themselces after the troy debacle. Orgeron is just unwilling to take chances. See: 4th and centimeters on the goal line fg .

If this is true, it demonstrates that O, in addition to bringing absolutely nothing strategically, is a toxic, petty manager of people. If LSU were run by people who knew what they were doing, O would have never been hired.

Worse than that Orgeron had a set in stone track record of being this way.

To me, this statement by itself shoots any credibility you might've had.
