New Orleans Smoked Sausage is (IMO) noticeably better than DoubleD, Conecuh, Country Pleasin', Manda, Rouses, Big Mikes, Savoies, Richards, Verons, and on and on.

Rouses on Belle Chase Hwy is having a tasting event there today from 10-2:00. I'm guessing sooner or later all Rouses will carry it.

I was going to start this thread last week!
Not joking, it is the best smoked sausage I've ever tasted. I plan on loading up on it this weekend and keeping a bunch in the freezer.

Wow that's a great read. I hope to see some in Gonzales or BR area when they release some for sale. I'll certainly buy some.

I love some Conecuh if I'm buying at the Grocery Store, I load up when I go to Verons Supermarket for small batch. I'll have to give it a try.

Had my second round of it last week. Simply great.
All I would add is that if you don't have access to one of the LA meat markets (Rabideauxs, Teets, etc), then this is a very good alternative and notably superior to every other mass-marketed smoked sausage.
