Why don't we hire Freeze as a consultant, like Saban did Sarkisian. After a couple of years he could be promoted.

If they were to announce freeze as oc would they do it tonight during the nc game not to draw a lot of national attention to it?

Support this motion. O can turn this ship around but we need new philosophy. At least someone who can develop our QB’s! We bring in so much raw talent that gets wasted

He's not being hired to run the program. That's the message that needs to be repeated over and over again.

He's being given a 2nd chance. And, we're going to do that. He's not going to be the face of the program...in fact, he's going to be kept behind the scenes from a PR perspective for the first year or so.

"We believe he's a good man and that he's deserving of a chance to redeem himself."

There is no real downside. Saban gave Sark a 2nd chance...and Kiffin. This is a no brainer.

Actually I meant to say I agree 100% with you. I'm not an O guy, hated the hire; but he's here, and if nothing else, I do believe he loves LSU and wants to win, and one thing I do like about having sort of a brusque, big Cajun dude with a chip on his shoulder is that he'll give the proper due respect to Lord Saban, which is, none due! If O is trying to get approval to hire Freeze, I'm in.

The article was written by Ron Higgins. Higgins spent 30 years as a writer in Memphis. Hugh Freeze came from Memphis.

100% chance that story was pushed from the Freeze camp, not the LSU camp.

don't want Freeze because I don't think he'd help us as much as our fans think. He doesn't run the ball. Didn't at ole miss or Arkansas State. He runs up tempo 100% of the time, so his defenses are always gassed. He hasn't figured when to turn it up and when to let off. His 2016 Ole Miss team averaged only 25 minutes of possession a game, which is why they blew so many leads throughout the season.

You act like Freeze ran an air raid offense. That’s just not the case.

UF just hired Mullen, who also lost a lot of games at State and won some he shouldn’t have. Mullen was a good hire, but Freeze is better than Mullen and available as an OC! We all know the Mississippi schools weren’t going to be elite because they are, well...the Mississippi schools. OM cheated because they weren’t going to get those recruits otherwise. LSU is not in that situation.

No, I act like his teams finished in the bottom third in rushing yards in the conference, on average, which they did. He's had several teams that averaged under 160 rushing yards per game. That's not good. Freeze hasn't had a guy with over 800 rushing yards since his first year at Arkansas St IIRC

We should be able to get him cheap and with minimal buyout.

What were the overall numbers like? Not just rushing (unless you want to argue that they had a RB like LF7 or DG5)? They are basically an RPO offense. You take what you’re given.

Combine a mobile quarterback with RPO playcalling, and you have an offense built to take advantage of Louisiana’s talent...and SEC defenses.

The thing about Freeze is that dude is only gonna be here for like 2 years.

He wouldn't have time to frick our program with the NCAA or his whores.

If Orgeron wants Freeze and the board won't allow it, well that's kind of shitty for Ed.

I’m not saying anything is a guarantee. But How many losses was Saban averaging at Mich State? Yet everyone knew he was a prodigy. MS is not LSU any more than Mich State is.

How many players did Saban buy at Mich State? Go look at the roster had during Freeze's tenure. It was not your typical ole miss talent, so the point you're trying to make is irrelevant. They were not devoid on talent on either side of the ball. Again, Hugh Freeze is not running a unique offense. It's a very simple offense actually, and a lot of coaches run it. However, of those coaches, the majority do not carry the baggage Freeze does. But, for whatever reason, our fans have, in the past week, latched on to the two coaches that do (Briles and Freeze). Is it because no major program wants them that we do?

I'd suggest that there is no "single" LSU camp and that the article was pushed for a reason. I think there is a real chance that someone on the LSU end is contributing to getting that published.
