So by their criteria, if a black woman gets a gender studies degree and can't get a job she's more educated than a white male HS graduate who makes $80k as a welder?

Well yeah, she is still more educated than the welder since she has more advanced degrees than he does. The welder is definitely more financially successful though.

how could she possibly not be considered more educated than a welder?

i hate how education and financial success have become conflated.

And she WOULD be more educated than him, by definition

I’ve seen some very intelligent black women, but they are more the exception in that group. IMO, Asians seem more educated as a group. Black women rack up more scholarships by average, just by being the preferred minority groupin the US, which may lead to them having more opportunities on average.

Good lord. Give them a stat and back it up with a study and immediately it’s disputed with hypotheticals.

This is as bad as when LSU misses out on a 5-star recruit and people fall all over themselves giving JD Moore examples of walk-ons.

Yes. There are some genius welders out there and some people who leave college I’ll-prepared.

What are the stats again on earnings with and without a degree?

Technically. Yes.

I make more money with my degree than a LSU Psychology MS graduate. Being degreed has nothing to do with salary.

That doesn't just apply to Black women. It applies to many highly degreed people of all demographics. They can claim a lot of letters after their names, but can't change a flat tire, or start a lawn mower, find the breaker box in their own house, cook a pot of beans..

I would guess that Black Women probably are the most degreed demographic, and I know some that are well educated and really smart. I love meeting and talking to those that have real common sense, along with their degrees. They are fun to talk to, and have great perspectives.
However, because of the higher % of degrees among their demographic, it's easier and more common to run into many of them that are really dumb. It's just numbers.

This is what happens when you have racial and sex quotas for financial aid to go to college.
You can't blame them, they are a product of the system, and show that in a way, as a statistic that number crunchers can point to, having the quotas worked, but in the grand scheme of things, didn't entirely achieve the desired results.

By definition, she has more education; therefore, she is more educated.

It in no way proves she is more intelligent.
