Brent Z did nail the Jimbo hire and was on it very early when people were calling it ridiculous. With the last statement though it’s always hard to tell if that confidence is his opinion based on what his sources are telling him or based on what the figures are

Someone post F King’s quote about paying the punting coach.

I wouldn't get in bidding war, let him go.
Keep Raymond happy, promote him and hire Ryan Clark for DB's.

Billy Liucci
@billyliucci
I don't think this is nearly as much about A&M backing up the brinks truck as folks in Baton Rouge want to believe

Dont agree with billy's opinion but it suggests that something is happening with Aranda

With O's low salary, there is no excuse not to counter anything and everything A&M offers. They offer 10M, offer 15. Don't. Stop.

That's funny that you think Alleva's going to get in a bidding war, when he wouldn't counter offer on the Herman deal.

You simply cannot let one of the best defensive coordinators go to a rival.

If it’s was about something more, he’d have taken the first offer.

So Aranda see where the two programs are heading and wants to be on the one pointed up. Sucks but he's right.

Alleva and O’s jobs pretty much depend on keeping aranda.

Pretty much. Unfortunately, when you have a HC that doesn't coach, you can't allow your best coordinator to leave for money. Especially while O's salary is semi-low (not low enough). The remaining money is there specially for guys like Aranda.

ok Billy. I know everyone wants LSU to be a circus right now, but if it was about that Aranda would be gone. He could name his spot.

Still think timing is something to keep an eye on. Going to be some NFL opportunities (see GB).

Naive, aren’t you?

Unlike Joe Alleva, they don’t whine and pout and hire a career position coach when their first offer isn’t accepted.

i would trust brent z on something like this. our beat writers aren't contradicting what he's saying...just saying it will take a lot of money. we know that won't be an issue for atm. if this happens we might only have to endure one more year of O
