I am huge on barkley. But drafting a rb is crazy. Their shelf life is so short. Rbs are a dime a dozen. You can find value later in the draft. I think the browns should go after cousins and draft all defense. That is how you build a team fast, oline and defense. Heck browns have 2 very good rbs imo.

They have a pretty good defense already, especially up front. They need to shore up the OL, improve the secondary, and get a 2nd WR option to Gordon and move Coleman to #3. Also need to use that cap space to get Cousins or a vet QB and keep Kizer as the backup.
If I have their picks, I use the first on a receiver and the 2nd on the OL. Use my 2nd round to get a corner, another OL, and maybe a TE. This assuming they sign a vet QB. Browns have no luck with rookie QBs, they need a proven commodity and they have the money to do so.

Have you seen the Browns QB play the last 2 years?
We’ve definitely seen it. In fact we’ve seen a decade and a half of terrible QB play despite using pick after pick in the top two rounds on QBs.
It’s not working. They need to draft other positions.

It's amazing how they are in a perpetual need for players in so many key positions.. they need to trade down again and build a solid base on one side of the ball..

Coleman can be a #2. If he ever stays on the field.

Bc Barley isn't even the best RB in the draft this year.... much less worthy of a top 10 pick.
Draft defense, defense, defense, defense, and maybe O-lineman.
Then sign a veteran QB. Browns could be 8-8 and respectable.

It’s a failure of the front office to identify players who have talent AND fit the system they are running.
They need to hire a better head of scouting at the least.
Look at the turnaround the Saints have done the last few years since hiring Jeff Ireland as their head of college scouting. Their 2017 draft is probably one of the best drafts in team history and certainly their best since the 2005 season when they got Bush, Evans, Colston, and other centerpieces of the rebuild.

Exactly. There is no reason a team with this much draft capital should perpetually be this terrible...
...except for the fact that they keep wasting said draft capital on the annual “Aaron Rodgers II is right around the corner” QB lottery.

The offensive ROTY is a third rounder at RB
Posted on 1/3/18 at 11:34 am to GoldenBoy
They don’t know how to correctly use Crowell/Duke J as it is now...what makes you think they could manage a horse like Barkley?

Look what Fournette has done for Bortles and the Jags this year. If there is a can't miss RB in top 10 it's a no brainer.

Browns dont need defense, defense, defense. 16th in DVOA, 14th in yards a game, 7th in rush defense, 19th against the pass, and 21st in sacks. Thats with playing a few very young guys.
The offense is what needs to be addressed.
1.QB-Darnold/Rosen
4.OT-Orlando Brown/Mike McGlinchy
33.RB-Guice/Chubb/Love
37.DB-Carlton Davis/Donte Jackson/Joshua Jackson

I agree to an extent. Jacksonville and Dallas both had built up other parts of their team that they felt adding an elite RB would compliment their team massively and it worked out for both of them.
The Jags had a dominant defense and adding LF7 compliments that, just like having Zeke helped compliment their o-line.
I think there is a time to take a RB early in the 1st round, but Cleveland has so many glaring weaknesses that I think they should look elsewhere in this situation.

They refuse to learn their lesson. Even "sure-fire" QB locks like Luck don't always have the careers that will lift your franchise to championship levels.
Hell, Brees, Rodgers, Warner, Favre, Young, Unitas only have 1 SB.
And Manning, Manning, Starr, Roethlisberger, Staubach, and Elway only have 2.
What fricking good does it do to have an all-time great at QB if he is surrounded by crap?
Same goes for Barkley or any other RB.

Because Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt.
