No Fontenots
I was going to say that, being a native of St. Charles Parish, I wouldn't consider it to be part of "Acadiana." But we have lots of Fontenots...so maybe we are??

I always looked at St. Charles as kind of a mixed area. Sure there are a lot of people with Cajun ancestry, but I would argue that the "German Coast" history in the area is a bit more prominent. So, based on that, I wouldn't consider St. Charles to be part of the Cajun area.

You could probably shrink that area to the one circled in red. I'd say Jennings to Breaux Bridge or Henderson, and Bayou Chicot to Pecan Island. There's really not much celebration of cajun heritage outside of that box.

Vermilion, Acadia and Evangeline are the top 3 no doubt.

It is horrible. I don’t know why they do it like that up here. I’m from South Louisiana and I never eat the crawfish up here. I wait till I go back down south to eat crawfish

I knew there was a bunch of German heritage in Acadia Parish. In high school I remember when we played Notre Dame, their players’ names were always things like Zaunbrecher and Stover and Stovall.

Think you need to include the south and east portion of Allen Parish, with the Prairie Cajuns

German Coast refers to the East bank in St. James and St. John Parishes.
