I liked TFA

I liked R1

I was younger when the prequels came out so i even have a soft spot for those though even though they're awful movies

this is the first Star Wars movie i outright do not like and do not think it was particularly well done either.

no but i also saw where you followed that up with

but stop making this out to be as good a movie as ESB because it's not even close.

That's your opinion, and its valid, other people think it is as good, Their opinion is just as valid as yours but you are telling them they are wrong. I happen to agree with you that it is not as good as Empire but I do think it is a good movie and i enjoyed a lot about it.

In no world is this movie as good as empire

If anything it gives me a new appreciation for The prequels

I didn’t have sky high expectations and I have never been shocked at a movie being so bad

Fair enough. I can see it was a polarizing movie and many predicted it would be and that has beared out in the reactions thus far. I loved it however, and was twice as fired up walking out of the theatre as I was TFA (I really enjoyed it too though). I’m going to see it again in the next few days and I’ll see if I feel the same way once everything has settled, but right now it is one of my favorite Star Wars movies period.

I think even the negative reactions will cool with time and people will look with fonder eyes. We’ll see.

Jeez

Wrong thread for all this shite discussion. I just don’t see how some people think it was that bad.

I liked Rose’s character till she saved Finn. I was all in on him dying right there. Would of suited his character well.

Another q : is the little boy from Canto bite rians next trilogies hero?

Could be. He could be super important. Or he could just be symbolic and an example of the fire that was lit by the spark that was Resistance/Rebellion. And there are potentially thousands of others like him out there. That’s how I took it.

IMDB list Joseph Gordon Levitt as the voice of Slowen Lo, anybody remember who that was? Was that the guy who was bitching about Rose and Finn parking on the beach at Canto Bight?

Yeah, i was disappointed Finn didn't die there, that would have been good.

The film is a complete mess. At one point is has 4 separate narrative threads. Every line of dialogue is terrible...and terribly delivered

You are so full of shite dude.

Yea that whole speeder attack was so worthless and anticlimactic besides the Falcon swooping in. But it showed how Poe learned that it’s not about being heroic but living to fight another day

I loved everything but the B plot (Finn and Rose) which seemed completely unnecessary, but even that brought a ton of world building to the table. Seeing how the money class was basically defense contractors who really don’t care who’s in charge as long as they can sell arms to whomever is fighting was pretty damn significant.

On the flip side, loved everything about the A plot, especially the shoulder toss. I even liked Leah using the force to pull herself back to the ship. The scene in the Snoke throne room was fantastic. Every scene with Luke was brillient from training Rey to arguing with Yoda and his final force projection Mexican standoff with Kylo-Ren. It was all excellent.

ETA: Was Mr. Satan one of the aliens on Kanto-Bite?

I mean this movie is no "Man of Steel". That one left me in shock and awe about how awful it is. Anytime Rey and Kylo were on screen was great.
