And why is the tracker only in 1 Star Destroyer and not in all of them?
What are the odds we will never see this marvelous new technology in another Star Wars movie?

It's called a McGuffin mother fricker, do you not know these things?!
The McGuffin here is retarded. I’m pretty sure Snoke would shell out the cost to have that on every ship.... oh but wait somehow Snoke doesn’t know about the most revolutionary piece of technology developed to track ships through Hyperspace.

i don't understand the cloaking stuff in the Star Wars universe.
There was no cloaking. They were in plain view as it is shown in the Throne Room. It’s total nonsense.

Does it only hide the ship from radar or does it actually cloak the ships from sight too? They mention having to search other channels for the escape pods so I don't know, they seemed to only be firing blindly. Why wouldn't you send fighters after the escape pods instead of firing willy nilly?
Exactly. The movie is a pile of shite and on the levels of the prequels.

So you hated over half the movie and it’s a solid B

Whoa, now. The prequels aren't that bad.

No.
Snoke has Rey look out the window and watch the escape pods get rocked.

Maybe that was a decloaking magnifying glass Snoke had?

What a fricking abomination of a movie. Just terrible in every sense. Actually didnt even see the ending because our theater had a fire alarm but i have zero fricks about missing it. The screen went out after she flew the ship through the other ships using hyper drive and Ray tried to grab that kid's light saber. Got a free pass to go back but am not motivated.

I've had three thoughts about TLJ:
1. The Star Wars Story continues, but almost entirely in the following portions:
- The Opening Scene up until the jump to lightspeed
- Everything involving Rey, from her training up until she leaves Snoke's Ship
- The final act of the movie, aka, on the salt planet
2. Everything else is one of these three things:
- Everything that SJWs are doing "Wrong".
- Propaganda that will keep SJWs cheering for more
- Cute Things
3. When I said "wrong" with what SJWs are doing, I mean that the entire story is being told from the point of view of a SJW, who is trying to show other SJWs what things they are doing wrong, while trying to show them the ultimate bad guy (Capitalism, aka Mickey himself), but first trying to point them toward Donald J Trump/Republicans first.
Here are a few character allegories I should point to, so you can understand everything:
Snoke = Donald Trump, right down to the fixation for gold
Ginger Spice = "The Alt-Right", at least how SJWs see them
Finn = The Black Vote. He "left the plantation" (in their eyes anyway), doesn't know jack, and follows the cause in lockstep
Rose = Every SJW ever. Right down to the "Animals are pure good but conscientious bystanders are evil" mentality.
Poe = White Knight. Stands up for what is good (blowing up bad guys), did the right thing (standing up for a woman, no matter how wrong she actually was) gets treated like shite (how every SJW actually feels about White Knights), and gets attacked for doing things right.
Leia = Hillary Clinton
Laura Durn = Nancy Pelosi, and every other "outstanding" Democrat in politics.
Benicio Del Toro = The Anonymous Hacker known as 4Chan. Double crosses the SJWs allegory to how vidya's have crossed SJWs since Gamergate.
Kylo Ren = Republican Leadership, probably Paul Ryan specifically with indications pointing to the shirtless "manbod" scene (I thought he looked a little chunky). He's someone who has good in him (as republicans actually do), but is committed to evil (aka being a republican). Ideally, will cut down Trump (I mean, Snoke), but then continue the true political lie.
Rey = Elizabeth Warren, right down to the doesn't know shite about her past.
Luke Skywalker = Bernie Sanders. Couldn't give a frick about Warren, lives like a goddamn hobo, and protects the "sacred works" of Marx (I mean the Jedi)
Ghost Yoda = Karl Marx. Yea, the Jedi practice Socialism, who knew.
The whole casino planet = Capitalism, right up to the whole locking someone up for illegal parking (point to what everyone in BLM thinks happens daily, but is usually not the case). Oh, and the beating of children.
Past that, everything in the movie is either distorted history, or a fanfiction of an SJW of what they hope is to come.
And that's why TLJ sucks.
This quite possibly might be the absolute most stupid thing I've ever read on this entire site. And that's saying A LOT.
You're one of those guys that can drag politics into a conversation about improving my golf swing.
Bet you're a delight at parties.

Just saw it over the weekend, and yes it is pretty bad. The visual effects were of course stunning but the plot holes were big enough to drive the Death Star through them.
For example, it turns out that ramming a ship at light speed can destroy the entire enemy fleet at once. Then why in hell didn't they have a half-dozen drones rigged to do that from the start?
The entire Resistance leadership is on the bridge of the same ship so they can all be killed at once? Really?
And when will Kylo Ren finally stop being an emo teenager and grow up? It's hard to take him seriously as a bad guy. Every time he flies into one of his rages I want to pat him on the head and tell him he'll grow up and all this will be behind him one day.

This bothers me and I see it a lot. The only explanation can be that they hadn't thought about using light speed that way yet, or it had never been done before. It seems far fetched, but that's the only thing that would make sense. Commercial planes were invented a long time ago but were never hijacked and used in a kamikaze style to take out whole buildings until 16 years ago. Why hadn't this been done several years before?

In a galaxy of hundreds of trillions, no one has thought of that? If they know that E=MC^2 they should have thought of that.

A) The Japanese have shown that you can do just that.
B) It requires being a suicidal mass murderer, which those are few and far between.

The original movie taught us two things:
1) You have to make calculations before jumping into hyperspace because hitting something in the way is bad. They already knew what would happen.
2) Ships can pilot themselves and jump into and out of hyperspace on their own. When the Millenium Falcon arrives at the Death Star and they can't find anybody on board, the officer theorizes to Vader that they abandoned ship and it just continued on its preprogrammed course. You don't even need a droid to remain behind to sacrifice itself.

In a galaxy as big as Star Wars and with as many ships being flown it would’ve happened by accident by this point.

The japanese flew commercial planes into buildings??? We know that some pilots have kamikazed their planes in star wars, but not using light speed. That's why I specifically used the commercial planes kamikaze example.

Probably, but planes on our planet have crashed on accident and done major damage as well.
I said it was far fetched, but I can't think of any other reason.

Stop trying to find a good reason. There isn't one for the use of light speed as a weapon any more than there's a reason for jedi ghosts suddenly using the force as if they were still alive. Both are just "frick yous" to the original trilogy's fans and story lines.

Another good points I picked up elsewhere...
Blue haired chick is vice admiral but Poe has never met her?
She blows up the FR fleet with the killer hyperspace move - but then all the characters, killer ram and assault force just end up on Crait like nothing happened?
I rewatched ESB and RotJ with my boys and again got another appreciation of how difficult it SHOULD BE to use the force. Luke could barely pull his light saber in Hoth and had to get training from Yoda himself to barely do anything - but Rey is a force wielding master after being exposed to it for a week.
Just silly laziness in writing.
