Right, your opinions are way better over here.

Isn't that what I said?

Both his and Rey's characters developed quite a bit in this movie.

Rey's character didn't develop at all and hasn't through 2 movies

she is who she was initially. the perfect, hopeful, optimist who is a master Force user without any training and who can withstand any temptation from the Dark Side without any hesitation

Boys getting their shite together to become Men (through Women) is a theme not only in this movie, but one that is shown throughout the Saga.

The Skywalkers getting their shite together by a women (Padme and Rey, but Rey was still a "girl" she had some maturing to do, and she did in this movie) is an ENDGAME of Star Wars, what the entire Saga has been about.

The middle chapters focused more on the father-son relationship.

However, the entire Saga is about Anakin and Padme.

Padme/Rey in the end are more important than Luke. Luke's role was to bring his father back to the light, let go of his thirst for power , and accept familial compassion.

Padme was the failure to control The Chosen One. She and Anakin were not equals in power and at the end she could not prevent Anakin from choosing power over her love.

Rey is the key to the completion of the Jedi Prophecy. Anakin finished the Sith, but he had not brought balance to the Force. He needs Padme/Rey to do help him do that. Through Anakin/Kylo's acceptance of love over power, he and Rey will learn to balance the Force once and for all and end the conflicts that have been plaguing the galaxy.

Padme/Rey is Anakin/Ben's "guiding light". Anakin's mom too was important...Feminine power and wisdom has always been a crucial aspect of Star Wars...ever since the beginning when Lucas created this franchise.

Yes, I am saying that Rey and Kylo/Ben are Padme and Anakin reincarnated. There has been quite a good bit of evidence. I hope this revelation will make people happy and appreciate the sequel trilogies more in two year.

This is the big unveiling in store for EP9, I do not consider this a spoiler since this is speculation, but I and many others in the Star Wars speculation community are very confident that this is, in some way or another the truth.

I don't understand why you are upset? This is a very beautiful ending.

This Saga being about those two is canon. Lucas has said it himself.

If you want more info and would like to discuss this as adults, I will be happy to share with you some links.

If your defense of the new trilogy is referencing the prequels, then the Empire has already won

I've had three thoughts about TLJ:

1. The Star Wars Story continues, but almost entirely in the following portions:
- The Opening Scene up until the jump to lightspeed
- Everything involving Rey, from her training up until she leaves Snoke's Ship
- The final act of the movie, aka, on the salt planet

2. Everything else is one of these three things:
- Everything that SJWs are doing "Wrong".
- Propaganda that will keep SJWs cheering for more
- Cute Things

3. When I said "wrong" with what SJWs are doing, I mean that the entire story is being told from the point of view of a SJW, who is trying to show other SJWs what things they are doing wrong, while trying to show them the ultimate bad guy (Capitalism, aka Mickey himself), but first trying to point them toward Donald J Trump/Republicans first.

Here are a few character allegories I should point to, so you can understand everything:
Snoke = Donald Trump, right down to the fixation for gold
Ginger Spice = "The Alt-Right", at least how SJWs see them
Finn = The Black Vote. He "left the plantation" (in their eyes anyway), doesn't know jack, and follows the cause in lockstep
Rose = Every SJW ever. Right down to the "Animals are pure good but conscientious bystanders are evil" mentality.
Poe = White Knight. Stands up for what is good (blowing up bad guys), did the right thing (standing up for a woman, no matter how wrong she actually was) gets treated like shite (how every SJW actually feels about White Knights), and gets attacked for doing things right.
Leia = Hillary Clinton
Laura Durn = Nancy Pelosi, and every other "outstanding" Democrat in politics.
Benicio Del Toro = The Anonymous Hacker known as 4Chan. Double crosses the SJWs allegory to how vidya's have crossed SJWs since Gamergate.
Kylo Ren = Republican Leadership, probably Paul Ryan specifically with indications pointing to the shirtless "manbod" scene (I thought he looked a little chunky). He's someone who has good in him (as republicans actually do), but is committed to evil (aka being a republican). Ideally, will cut down Trump (I mean, Snoke), but then continue the true political lie.
Rey = Elizabeth Warren, right down to the doesn't know shite about her past.
Luke Skywalker = Bernie Sanders. Couldn't give a frick about Warren, lives like a goddamn hobo, and protects the "sacred works" of Marx (I mean the Jedi)
Ghost Yoda = Karl Marx. Yea, the Jedi practice Socialism, who knew.
The whole casino planet = Capitalism, right up to the whole locking someone up for illegal parking (point to what everyone in BLM thinks happens daily, but is usually not the case). Oh, and the beating of children.

Past that, everything in the movie is either distorted history, or a fanfiction of an SJW of what they hope is to come.

And that's why TLJ sucks.

If you thought all this up in your head and didn't just copy-paste from another site...

Wow.

It must really be an awful life to have politics so embedded in your psyche that you literally see it in everything.

TLJ would be a horrible stand alone movie and it is an abomination of a Star Wars movie. SJW crap aside, Rey is the biggest Mary Sue in movie history. Except for visuals, there is nothing redeemable about TLJ.

Fans and casual movie goers agree. TLJ is flopping hard, setting records.

After seeing this movie a second time, I was able to enjoy it a lot more. I guess my expectations were shocked first go round. Whatever, I did seem to appreciate it more second time around.

@Bloodworth I agree. The second watch was much better but it was only because I wasn't so shocked by the blunt unsophisticated use of SJW politics. I was able to ignore it.

It still wasn't a very good movie and they focused on the wrong characters. I did start counting the male female ratio in the resistance and it was damn near 50/50 barring 4-5 scenes (that doesn't mean I don't agree with everyone, they were definitely pushing an agenda)

Laura Dern
the asian chick/finn storyline

the humor didnt bother me this time around.

Saw this with my two older children last week.

I didn’t care for the asian chick/finn storyline, how Snoke went out (seemed stupid how someone so aware couldn’t pick up on Kylo’s actions), and how Luke passed.

Just my opinion, wasn’t terrible but I liked other Star Wars movies better.

How? Does no one have a set of binoculars or a telescope. Out of like 15 ships not one person can see the escape pods? And why is the tracker only in 1 Star Destroyer and not in all of them?

It's called a McGuffin mother fricker, do you not know these things?!

i don't understand the cloaking stuff in the Star Wars universe. Does it only hide the ship from radar or does it actually cloak the ships from sight too? They mention having to search other channels for the escape pods so I don't know, they seemed to only be firing blindly. Why wouldn't you send fighters after the escape pods instead of firing willy nilly?
