No more fights in the stands at Tiger Stadium?

As I sat through season ~30 this year as a season ticket holder at Tiger Stadium it dawned on me that I haven't seen a fight in the stands it what seems like years. When I first started going to games in the late 80's early 90's it seemed like a fight in the stands was a regular occurrence. Without fail, nearly every game you would be sitting there when all of a sudden everyone around you started looking towards the same area of the stadium. Inevitably, there was a fight going on that drew everyone's attention. Most (not surprisingly) were in the student section, but not always. Eventually, it would end with a gang of cops dragging out the combatants, but sometimes not before the cops got in a couple of good shots of their own drawing "oohs" from the captivated onlookers.
For better or worse, however, those days appear to be gone. I guess the question is why?
Are today's LSU fans just more civilized and well behaved?
Are people drinking less at the tailgates?
Are today's college guys just a bunch of pussies and openly bisexual?
Are fans not staying long enough to get to prime fight time?
Are people just not as angry anymore?
Or, is it that everyone is on their cell phones during any lull in the action so that there really isn't any opportunity for the hostilities to escalate?
In the late 90's I watched two 70+ year old men come to blows 3 rows in front of me over what appeared to be a woman in her 60's and frankly no one was all that shocked about the fight. It was just kind one of those things that happened every game. Now? Nothing of the sort.
What gives?

I wish they would go back to fighting and quit STTDB so we can have neck back.

Now that I think about it this is probably right.

I remember the same in the 70's and 80's. I think in the 90's they started having more police presence and fighting tapered off.
I remember the Ole Miss fans used to hang Rebel flags around the visitor section and other places. LSU fans would casually walk by and set them on fire. That started a few fisticuffs back the day.
Watching fights was definitely part of the TS experience.

It’s because you are old and your old eyes can’t see the student section. Recently out of LSU. Had probably about 2 fights per year out of the years I was there

I lol’d
I’m sure I wasn’t the coolest kid in college, but all college guys now just look like adolescent little bitches. I like to think I was slightly cooler than that

I dunno, I believe it may have been the 2015 Florida game there was a fight in the Upper SEZ. Everyone in my section hear commotion and then cups filled with ice and coke were falling from the balcony. Next thing we see is police escorting a few people out from above us.

Kids are pussies today. Fighting, once a healthy extension of sporting events, has been deemed taboo by hordes of special snowflakes.

It has a lot to do with the type of fan goes to games now as opposed to the 70's and 80's. Growing up as a kid going to games in the 80's I sat in the South and there were several fights every game. I don't remember seeing one this year.

Definitely fewer fights. Two reasons: 1) much less booze being brought into the stadium b/c of stricter policy. In the 80's, we could walk in with a cup full of bourbon and an easily hidden flask. This, by the way, is the main reason students leave at halftime. If they were more lax about the alcohol, students would stick around. They would also entertain everyone else by fighting more, so that's a win/win. 2) Bigger police presence. In the student section, they constantly look up at the crowd. If anyone looks wasted or acts up, they pull them out.

I witnessed a fight in the East Upper last year at the Miss. State game.
Two baws from Golden Meadow were sitting next to me, and they killed off almost an entire fifth of crown before halftime. The bigger guy didn't seem that drunk, but the smaller one was off of his arse.
During halftime he gets into a screaming match with a dude to his left, I couldn't figure out what it was even about. But the drunk dude gets up, and punches him in the face. They get into it for a bit, then a state trooper comes in and breaks it up.

Funny way to put it, but this is basically it. Masculinity is on the decline in America. My dad, AND MY WIFE, have been thrown out of Tiger Stadium. I can grow a hair on my palm. Do you think these college pussies can?
Another theory is that they leave at halftime, before they get really pissed off. This interferes with my previous self-serving theory, but could be correct.

Not to steal your thunder but i think all the fans of both teams make it back alive from all 12 games that involved lsu.

Students are robots. They aren't programmed to fight.

Or maybe we are civilized and know how to handle ourselves at a public venue? We can’t say STTDB because it is a bad example for the little ones but seeing drunk people fight and getting thrown out is the perfect role model?
