John Mayer had a visit to the hospital this morning.
ANNOUNCEMENT -- Tonight's Dead & Company show at Smoothie King Center has been postponed. Please see the following statement from the band:
"Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy, forcing the Dead & Company's December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed." - Dead & Company

I'm guessing Orlando (Thurs 2/7) and Sunrise/Miami (Fri 2/8) shows will also be cancelled. Post-op recovery for appendectomy is usually 1-2 weeks until resuming normal work routine or daily living activities.
