Well it was a program our current coach rode into the ground.

Do you not ask for resumes at job interviews?

Kirby Smart, who most called overrated when he got the job at UGA, took over for another coach most called overrated in Richt, and he's in the damn playoffs. Next year, Orgeron better make the playoffs. No excuses.

LSU was a 3 win team when Saban took over.

"The Blazers hadn't had a winning season since moving to Division I-A in 1995.

But the Blazers came up with the biggest win in program history, a moment judged the school's greatest in sports.

And they didn't just beat LSU, they dominated. The Tigers committed nine turnovers — five fumbles, four interceptions — and 13 penalties. The Blazers led 10-0 at halftime and won 13-10 on Rhett Gallego's field goal as time expired.

The Blazers finished 7-4 that season"

Bama was a 6 win team when Saban took over.

ULM was a 4 win team until they beat Alabama.

ULM 2007:

vs Tulsa L 35-17
@ #25 Clemson L 49-26
@ #25 Texas A&M L 54-14
@ Troy L 24-7
vs Arkansas State W 30-13
@ North Texas L 31-21
vs FIU W 28-14
@ FAU W 33-30 OT
vs Mid Tennessee L 43-40
vs Grambling W 28-14
@ Alabama W 21-14
@ Louisiana W 17-11

The comparison between those teams and a 9-win LSU team is weak.

UAB is a 10 win team and receiving votes in the final polls. The comparison is NOT WEAK at all !!! Saban's losses were probably much worse than LSU's loss to Troy.

So some guy takes over a Georgia team that is fortunate to play in the SEC EAST and wins the SEC by beating the SEC WEST team that had already beaten them 3 weeks earlier. Now, LSU's coach who coaches in the SEC WEST BETTER make they playoffs.

Where do you people come from?

I'm not saying Eaux won't make the playoffs but to proclaim it has to happen because an SEC EAST team makes it is idiotic.

Coach Eaux was hired as the LSU head coach because of what he had accomplished the last few years at USC and LSU.

Wonder why USC didn't hire O for what he accomplished as an interim coach neither did Syracuse.

From O's introductory press conference:

"I believe we can compete for titles very fast."

Sounds like O has set these expectations.

No he better do it because he put those expectations on himself.

but why count the interim?

Because he replaced two fired coaches and was named head coach. It's that simple.

Holy shite what a stupid comment...Who did you want for coach? I am guessing Jimbo or Herman were your top 2 choices right?

I guess there was no excuse for Jimbo not to make the playoffs this year...he has been there for years and has his system in place yet he went 5-6 this year.

Pat Haden was the USC AD that didn't hire O as ft fb hc despite a good interim job by O. Haden has a pacemaker and stepped down due to health reason.

Pat Haden had the pacemaker for years.

"Pat Haden, the athletic director who steered USC through NCAA sanctions but was plagued by turmoil in recent months, will retire in June.

The former USC quarterback’s five-plus years leading the department were marked by improved facilities and fundraising, but also tumult on and off the field."

The only reason I could think of why O wasn't hired as ft hc at USC and Syracuse because his "ancient" record at Ole Miss was relevant to them, unlike our stupid AD.
