Just watched a news clip on wafb. A bro walked up and took a lady's amazon package. She got it on camera, but you couldn't see the thief's face. Doubt the popo will do anything about it.
Anyone gotten their delivery stolen?

That’s why I leave a decoy box full of spiders and anthrax on my doorstep

Brothers being brothers?

how do you know it's "thieves" that are stealing the packages?

I should be a real problem around the holidays.
It's not hard to do, either. Just follow the UPS truck around. Wait for a larger box drop off, and go at it. Up until you swipe the package, you could always claim you were soliciting magazines.

Maybe you ought to take a few plays off.

Should be an automatic castration offense

What's worse is the idiots at the VA will just mail you your medications if they feel like it. Even controlled substances.

My mom found a package at her front door out of the envelope. Fortunately whoever opened it wasn't interested in what she ordered and just left it.

I would be 100% okay with a person stealing a package off a front porch getting shot in the face with a shotgun.

Glad my next door neighbor has like 8 cameras surrounding his house, and 3 of them face my house. Never had this happen, but a drunk teenager who lived down the street destroyed our mailbox and trashed his truck (concrete mailbox). He went straight home and to bed, it happen like at 2 a.m. Our neighbors got it on camera. Kid was lucky, just had to pay for our mailbox, but got out of a DUI and we didn't press charges for the hit and run because he was 16 and lived three houses down. Plus we like his parents, and they'd be the ones really paying for it.

We had two packages stolen yesterday. One each from FedEx and UPS. Cameras are on the way.
One vendor is resending what they can and refunding an item no longer in stock. The other vendor hasn’t been responsive. Both ups and FedEx have opened claims.
Whoever it was left the fedex door slip in our mailbox today. It has to be someone in our neighborhood. Which is disappointing.
My work is flexible enough to let me work from home in the meantime. And we’ve given instructions to leave packages at the back door.
We’ve been in this neighborhood over 6 years. We flooded. First time this has happened. It was my wife’s stuff. She’s ready to kill someone.

Always have packages shipped to your office.

Yeah. What you saw is in my neighborhood. Took $150 worth of stuff from my and SO and I. If we’re talking about the same guy, the police has him. If he has my stuff, I’m pressing charges.

What are cameras going to do about it?

Some of them are two way communication capable and can alert you when they detect motion. They let you view your front door live in 1080p from an app. Putting them in sight can be a deterrent. Being able to tell someone to get the frick away can also help.

Somewhat relevant question...
I received a package from USPS the other day and the tracking update said "Delivered, left with individual".
No one was home. It was sitting by the front door after work.
Shouldn't it say something like "left at front door"? Is this a trick for them to be off the hook if the package goes missing?

I dont know how many times they(ups/usps/fed-ex) have dropped off a package without even ringing the door bell.

I'd love to let Otto greet them
