Why don't people dress up any more for occassions, like weddings, church, grads, etc?

Society has gotten more and more casual each year. Funerals and weddings used to be a suit/tie but now half the men don't even wear a jacket. Graduations and things like that were dress-up time but not anymore.
Why do you think this trend is occurring?

Isn’t a problem in my circles, I didn’t wear a tie with my jacket for a rehearsal dinner last weekend and felt under dressed. Forgot the tie at home so just had to own it.
Maybe find some classier friends?

I'll always wear a tie for those occasions, but if it's hot I'm not wearing a jacket.

People are trashy and graduation isn't that big of an accomplishment these days.

1. People prefer comfort.
2. Churches are probably happy to see butts in the seats.

Funerals and weddings
Suit for sure, unless it's a beach wedding.

Graduations
Not wearing a suit to somebody's HS graduation, it isn't an accomplishment. College graduation I could see a shirt and tie at minimum.

Probably the same reason guys aren’t skipping around in this shite...

People used to wear 3 piece wool suits with hats and pocket watches every day as well.
j/k aside I see no reason for people not to have suit & tie at these events. Being dressed properly does not take a ton of money these days.

A lot of offices have gotten more casual, but I haven't noticed this in the other settings you mentioned.

Forgive me, if you will, for injecting socio-political ideas into this, but American cultural "elites" see: TV and movies, and whoever else, have been pushing us toward less formal ideals of address, discourse, dress, etc. for 70+ years.
What we have today is the goal of "egalitarianism" where "arbitrary" mores, norms, etiquette, etc. are disavowed. They're derided as old-fashioned, stupid, "who are you to tell me how to __________________?" (insert dress, speak, whatever you like in the blank.) And the justification of "well, it's polite, or appropriate" is often met with a shurg and "so, the frick, what?"
How many threads on here do we see where at least more than one poster will post " why do you care how another grown man dresses?"
I'm guilty of it too, often enough, wearing dress or even khaki pants with a dress shirt, only, to Church on Sunday instead of at least a tie and coat if not a suit.

In my experience it's a country people thing. Since moving to North Louisiana and meeting much more rural groups of people, I've noticed they don't think anything of going to weddings in a short-sleeve button down and sometimes even jeans....I would be uncomfortable as hell doing that.

It’s all the LSD people starting doing in the 60’s. Cultural downfall of most sorts in this country can be traced back to this period.

Not wearing a suit and tie to an evening indoor wedding is trashy AF

Tie without a jacket looks like shite

Who doesn't wear a suit to a wedding? The jacket is supposed to come off toward the end of the reception, not before the ceremony.
