Still none of you guys can explain why one packet of traffic should be more important than another.
The issue is one packet of information costs less to provide the infrastructure for than 10,000,000,000 packets of information.
It's the AMOUNT of data that costs more, not the CONTENT of the data.
It's been a similar issue for cellular data usage for years. I don't see cellular providers limiting the content of free expression of ideas.

You use terms like "more important" that are literally irrelevant.
You don't understand what prioritizing traffic means then.

Because I support free markets.
ummm then you should want all traffic to be equal...

Well, you think you do, but you don’t. You support the Big Six. They will neuter the free market and all competition. It will for sure be the death of the independent creator and certainly YouTube.

Free market will balance it out.
Explain to me how?
If tomorrow Cox and ATT decided to charge $1200 a month for acess to all blog sites, or decided Fox News is free with all subscribers but CNN costs an extra 200 per month for users and CNN itself has to pay Cox $200 and it still runs slower with less bandwidth than Fox, how would the free market punish them?
Explain it.
If Cox decides it will allow you access to certain sites but not others, how do you let the free market change that?
You can't just start a new ISP. That's not how it works. And in many places you only have 1 or 2 choices for an ISP

what a facile understanding of what a free market is.
You are being kind
You and I have been involved in this discussion before.
It's just staggering how little the average American understands about markets and economics.
But it's even more staggering how little they care to solve their ignorance.

So now you are talking data caps.
If you are pro data cap you really have no idea wtf you talking about. Data caps do nothing to improve the network.

You pay for Kodi? What exactly are you paying for considering it's a free open source application?\

Why does it matter?
Because it's biggest use is to stream "free" programming. And by "free" I mean pirated.

I really am amazed some people are in favor of this.

I want my ISP to act as a dumb pipe. That is what I PAY them for. I do not want my ISP putting Netflix out of business just because they mad they didn't think of Netflix's model first.

That would be considered illegal under current anti-trust law.

They wont need to throttle it. They could simply not provide it.
For me, the biggest issue here is the censorship. ISPs will be allowed to decide what parts of the internet you can view with no input from the consumer. Then ask yourself, are the major ISPs right leaning or left leaning?
If we want free trade fine. I am all for it. I am saying this is not the way to do it. We need a different solution.

I can't digest all of economic history and how businesses respond in competitive markets for you into one or two TD posts.
I also can't explain Physics to an 8th grader on TD in a concise manner either.
This doesn't mean the 8th grader's understanding of physics is correct.

You pay for all that pirated porn you watch?
Don't act holier than thou. I pay for Kodi by paying for the internet. Kodi chooses not to charge me for content they provide.
Kodi is a group of websites no different than YouTube, google, Facebook, tigerdroppings or GASP pornhub!

No, you pay them for whatever service they decide to provide you. Your only say in the matter is whether you decide to pay for their service or not.
