This point is so stupid

none of them are Internet Service Providers

They are not the gateway holders to content. They are the content. You don't have to use them and can go else where.

Why? They're using the same service as you. And it doesn't affect the provider at all.

It's funnier than that really.

They think "free market" means "evenly distributed" market. But, um, no.

They also don't seem to understand that all of their scarrrry things are things that will tend to DRIVE future............wait for it........free market activity.

Whereas, preventing all of those things actually blunts said activity.

Basically, what they really mean is that they want a Socialist Market.

Why?

government has fricked with the markets so much that various levels created mini-monopolies and then the market gets blamed when it faces an uphill battle to correct the problem
its a classic case study. The cure for governments ills is more government!!! Not only is it “government” but the FCC no less! With a long history of acting against consumers and openly corrupt licensing regulatory approvals.

Nest time it will be different!

Still none of you guys can explain why one packet of traffic should be more important than another. Or why all internet traffic should not be treated equal.

And that is the problem right there. High speed broadband is the Cadillac of service. You think you are entitled to best of the best, like it is a right in the Constitution.

People being able to stream videos on youtube, facebook, etc. is not a freaking right.

You’re openly advocating making a current utility more restricted so less people can partake in it. You are advocating for Oligarchy whether you know it or not. There’s a reason why the government can break up monopolies, and it’s to keeping large companies from terrorizing 99.999% of society.

Should a person be able to demand a full page ad in a newspaper under “print neutrality”? Maybe they should demand TV stations run their shows under “broadcast neutrality”?

Can you imagine if you'd passed "broadcast neutrality" in 1975?

Right now in 2017, you would still have "neutrality".......but you would still only have ABC, CBS and NBC" to choose from. There would be no "free market" incentive for there to be anything else.

Yep. I was going to wait... but it seems like a good time to remind them that the FCC... yeah that FCC... auctions off radio bandwidth to the highest bidder... all the time!

You use terms like "more important" that are literally irrelevant.

Well, I'm too dumb to understand the science/technical aspects of bandwidth. I view the internet like a water bill, I guess. I'll buck up the $100-$150 to comcast for crystal clear TV and let you young pups fight the good fight on the internet side.

They actually had a form of it. But it was causing the independent broadcasters to go bankrupt.

Either the deepest pocket corporates would have owned everything, or, large swaths of rural America would have been without radio and TV.

But it’ll be different this time!

The problem the whiners on this have is that, like so many other people ignorant of markets and economics, they have zero ability to see dynamism.

They see tomorrow as being exactly like today. If it doesn't exist now, they can't conceive of it existing ever.

So, they can't conceive of the reality that there is an economic limit to the supposed scary things they believe will happen.

AND......MOST IMPORTANTLY.......there will be economic and business REACTIONS to those things(that are fricking good!)

We are the best country in the world yet our internet is still lacking......

You do realize streaming doesn't require a frick ton of bandwidth. 25 megs is plenty unless you are running multiple devices at once. Still tons of people can't get that or have to pay way to much for internet speeds they don't really need.
