Careful though, it's at the crux of the issue. For some people, and probably a good portion, 100%-ing the game and getting everything IS the game. So most games should be made with all type in mind, and that includes people who want to explore and collect, and people who want to dump money in the game for faster progress.

The easiest, although not communal, solution is to have 2 "communities," and you are only matched with the type of player you play with. Let people P2W but treat them like a PvP server of old. They get their own space.

Could be true sometimes but games like this are people crying bc they died a few times to someone they felt sucked. How often do you think these people think “Well that player is just better than I am” vs “that basement dwelling virgin only won bc he used mommy’s credit card”

I'll buy whatever the frick I want to.

I am an adult and I can decide what to spend my money on.

They also reduced the amount those heroes cost by 75%; put the pitchforks away.

See, that's not too bad.

I don't mind having to play a little to get the good rewards, because that's what keeps interest up, but 40 hours for a major character is fricking ridiculous.

The credit price probably would of been fine if it wasnt time-gated. Earning credits based on time played instead of score is bad

Has to be the first time EA has ever bent to the community. Wish they would listen to the FIFA sub.

The game is still very pay to win though, even after their limited changes the first time.

A big YouTuber put out a video a few days ago where he spends $89 for the top loot box package, and at level 15 he was able to have such a large advantage from the cards he got, he was getting 77 kills in a match where everyone else was getting 30, with 25+ kill streaks. He was unkillable all because of the 3 upgrade cards he paid for giving him like 15% extra armor, 15% extra damage, 15% extra health, etc.

It will take a grind of over 200 hours to unlock all the heroes, and that is if you do not spend any of the grinding on other stuff.

they locked darth vader, princess, chewbacca, and luke behind a huge points dealio.

EA responded to the out cry, and it was voted down so badly, that is the most down raned post in the history of reddit.

over -240K nearest one was -24K, and that guy asked to get down voted.

I thought about buying, then watched videos on how you have to pay to win, to max shite up, and said frick it, not for me.

I bought it for my son, we don’t play online so this seems like it won’t effect me at all.

My biggest problem with the whole thing is it was 40 hours no matter what you do to unlock it. If it was based on achievements I would have been fine with it.

I think there is an argument to be made for time. That's why the "Unlock" craze, vis a vis the Games as a Service model, has some big problems ahead.

1. Lock things by achievements and you automatically support min maxing a particular way
2. Lock things by Scores/Win Loss and you support the worsening vicious attitudes of most online gamers - ie, the ultra competitiveness of many games
3. Lock things by time and realistically you have to find a balance of time to unlocks - It can't take thousands of hours

I do think some companies make good faith efforts, but no one has found a good and fair solution.

People were sending the devs death threats over this shite. Pathetic. Kind of wish they had bumped it up 75%.

I refuse to buy a game like this. Be upfront about the cost. Personally I am stubborn enough to write off your entire company after 1 bad purchase then give in and keep biting.

If it is a 100 dollar game just say it. I dont mind that. I hate the idea of conceit or bait and dig deeper.

DLC should be an add on to a game not a requirement to play or access the original content.

Really don't get why people would complain about having the option to NOT pay what the game should really cost.

I saw I got downvoted for my previous comment, but that wasn't me wishing that they cost that much. We're just fortunate that games are still the price tha they are. If you read all the horror stories about development times and grueling work schedules for some of these people, I'm really surprised we haven't seen a price hike in some time.

I'd rather go back to just getting a complete game even if it was at a flat higher rate.

Ea is awful and really turned me off of COD with DLC b.s. they don't even attempt to give you a decent experience anymore, Madden is annually recycled, and Battlefront 1 was awful.

I really just don't trust them at all.

It's hilarious and sad hearing all these little cuck boys line up to get f'ed in the arse by EA.

"It's my money and I'll give it to this terrible company for a horrible product if I want to!"

Yeah, you sure showed us! You can be a sap all day long, it's your right.
