You can try contacting animal rescues in BR. There are many for dogs. If they don’t have room to take him, I know most will work with you to get him adopted if you’ll foster. Try Yelp! Baton Rouge, CAAWS, & Friends of the Animals.

Bless you man. Dogs are the best gift to mankind- I’m amazed every day they actually exist . My dog never leaves my side .

What is really shitty is when they drop them off in very remote areas, leaving the dog to fend for itself.

It’s an animal, is that not what they do? What in the world did these poor dogs do before humans took them in and fed them brown pellets out of a bag?

I'm pretty sure CAAWS will take it, not sure if you have to show proof of residency in EBR
They are by the airport & close at 5

Just to clarify, CAAWS is a rescue group in the Shenandoah area: LINK /

CAA is the one near the airport, and it’s a kill shelter/animal control for EBR. I wouldn’t recommend taking it there.

You are right, thanks

CAAWS is not affiliated with EBR animal control, they are one of the rescues that pulls dogs from EBR's kill shelter (CAA)

Foster him yourself and use social media to find him a home with your friends.

Hes a big dog and those r harder to adopt out at shelters.

Get him tested for heartworms. Many times they r dumped because they have them and owners can't or won't pay fortreatment

Aww... what a cute pup. He/she reminds me of the dog I may or may not have stolen from some homeless people back in the day.

Taking your nuisance dog for a ride out to the country is a time-honored tradition.

It’s a real shame too. Pieces of shite can’t realize what a good friend dogs can actually be.

My chocolate lab loves me no matter what. I fricking hate people who do this kind of shite

I'm guilty but it wasn't really my dog. My wife made the mistake of feeding some pot licker that showed up and wouldn't leave. After a couple weeks of posting pictures on social media and begging people to take it in, he had to go. Everything around my house was getting chewed up. It was either that or drop him off at the local kill shelter.

What a pretty dog. My friend Nicholas had a big arse dog that looked just like that when we were young. His name was tank.

Exactly. Somebody dropped that dog off by our street. Why is it my responsibility to take it in and watch all my shite get destroyed? We made a conscious effort to find him a home but none of the dog lovers we knew wanted it.

Years ago I did it when they kept tearing up my trash. If someone wants to let their dogs run loose then they shouldnt mind if someone drops them off 30 miles away.

Wow...What in the actual frick man??

Its aggravating I know, but a Red Ryder pop in the hind end is a much better option.
