I do. I don't understand this cultural shift towards forcing kids to be grownups and confront every challenge and belief in the world before they turn 12. This next generation is going to grow up with some serious mental issues. A kid 6-13 years old should be playing outside and acting like idiot and dressing up in costumes, and pretending to be an astronaut, and exploring the world, and just being a kid.
Not dressing like a slutty 25 year old, worrying about social media, confronting the injustices of the world, determining gender and sexual identity, and consuming all manner of immoral and sexual content on every channel and turn in their lives.

I used to be like this. Concerned and slightly worried about the world. Then I had a kid. Now I'm terrified everyday about the shite that kid is going to see before he's 10. I grew up without the internet. We didn't have high speed internet until I was 16. I barely watched TV as a kid and when I did it was either cartoons or a family sitcom. The underwear section of a catalogue or seeing a peak at a playboy cover in a store was crazy. It blew your mind. Hearing a curse word in a movie was nuts. A 5 year old with a cellphone nowadays is a wrong click or two from transvestite midget beastiality gangbangs.
Kids have unfettered access to every insane nook and cranny of human existence they can possibly imagine before their brains can even comprehend what they're being confronted with. The last thing we need to do is give them a reason to go searching for things they have no business learning about.

Call me crazy, but with all of the gratuitous sex, drugs, and violence in popular culture, I think a Disney program about a 13 year old coming out is pretty tame by comparison.

Tame by comparison? Sure. But it's on a network that's almost entire audience is 6-12 year olds. There's no reason to send those kids on a search through the internet for adult content and problems.

I think it's wonderful . Gay kids need to have something they can relate to on TV. It's sad but not shocking that so many Trumpkins are melting over this.
