The Ring at #100?

And then Ringu is at #45?

One of the few Japan-horror remakes that wasn't worse than the original. They can't be 55 places apart.

44. The Orphanage (2007)

Way better than half the movies ahead of it.

62. Re-Animator (1985)

I mean I loved Re-Animator as a kid...but it's not scary like The Ring.

Jaws seems too low.

Jaws caused almost everyone who watched it to be scared of the water...or at least think for a second when going into the water....many long after initially seeing the movie. Feel like it should be top 3 at worst.

The Shining should not be number 1.

Scream is the one horror film that literally tortured me as a kid and gave me nightmares and it's 27??

At least Jaws, Alien, and Night of the Living Dead are in the top 10 where they belong.

There's some films on there I wouldn't think should be considered horror, like Misery (great film, but it's more of a thriller) and Halloween III really? Also there's films on here that are pure crap like The House of the Devil.

I get that it's subjective, but not that great of a list.

The top 15 is pretty legit. I'd reorder it a little bit but hard to argue those movies shouldn't be up there.

No way Get Out is a top 30 horror movie of all time.

Paranormal Activity (2009)

Would've been number 1 if they ended the movie 5 minutes earlier than they did.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)

Should be #1. When this movie came out, they handled all of it so perfectly. The marketing was incredible.

I'd put Sinister on the list ahead of The Conjuring, although I liked them both.

And where the hell is Event Horizon? Should have been on there somewhere.

I'd reorder it some, but pretty solid list. Bride of Frankenstein is way too high, but it doesn't matter. The Sixth Sense should be at least in the top 15. Also personally I'd have the 1991 version of Night of the Living Dead replacing the original.

Original Nightmare is top 10 for me easily.

Scream at 27? GTFO

JAWS affected the beach tourism industry.

Scream single handedly boosted caller ID sales.

I caught part of The Devils Backbone on HBO late night one time when I was about 9. That scene with Santi and the closet effed me up. I was afraid to go down the hall to piss at night for months afterwards.

It's actually one of my all time favorite stories now. Del Toro knows how to make movies. It's unfortunate that it's still a relatively unknown film

Also, what's with Babadook being up in the 30's? Am I the only one that was extremely underwhelmed? It's a solid movie, but nothing extraordinary about it

A couple that I'm glad made the list is Rec and Martyrs. The Babadook, It Follows, and The Witch don't belong on the list IMO. They were good, but not top 100 good.

Jaws is a classic monster movie at best.

But it's not horror. Has very little hallmarks of horror...things happening that are not expected. They even admit in Jaws, with Quint...that this is expected...with the Indianapolis.

If people don't think Monster movie is still a genre, than Jaws has to be a Thriller...not Horror.
