Just got mine this past Saturday. Hoping she's a decent hunter.

Since y'all always make fun of the "hats" I put on them, I tried to find something more OB stylish this year.

Edit: apparently we have a lot of new folks here. Here's one of my first threads about falconry. It answers most of the "how, why, what" questions. Unfortunately photobucket gutted all the photos that used to be in it. Old Falconry Thread

Another Old Thread

First LSU steals the game from them, then you steal their mascot?

So, what happened to your bird from last year? Do you just trade them in at the end of the season? Bird refuge?

I would imagine it is an involved process to own a bird of prey. Pretty bad arse pet IMO

How does one catch a bird of prey?

Is that red-tailed hawk?

No, but someone is posting pics of a white-tailed hawk in Grand Isle. I did not know those ever came into La.

It was a good day for them here today. Bald Eagle, Merlin, Northern Harrier, Sharp Shinned Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk. All but the Merlin from my home office window.

Is yours Red-shouldered?

Mine is prettier. I have a hawkhead parrot. He hunts for what treat I'm going to give him every day.

But really, that's a beautiful girl.
