The Pro-O's are out in force today!

Having former players, especially one's in the NFL, speak/participate with the team is never a bad thing. Never. Even if they're doing coke off the 3rd string S thigh pad, it's still a good thing (just to a lesser degree).
I wish we were running them on the scout team like some other *cough* SEC teams are.
It's so commonplace I can't see how this became a negative reflection on Orgeron... but the Rant made it happen.
ETA: and did you see the recruit list, there are addl advantages.

So what is his value add here at LSU exactly?
Made the same comment today at lunch. O is supposed to stay out of the offense, defense, and now apparently motivation.
What the hell is he supposed to do?

You and the ones that upvoted this are literally retarded. CEOs of fortune 50 companies pay millions to have different speakers come in to rally the troops. Sometimes it takes some one on the outside to kick you in the arse and make you take a hard look in the mirror about why you’re not being successful.

Yes, for the redneck and coonass dumbasses in this thread who cannot critically think, everyone understands that guests regularly address the team.
But it is disturbing and it is indicative of Orgeron’s deficiencies to run a program that he views a motivational talk by an outsider as the season’s “turning point.”
O is depending on cheap emotional pick-me-ups with generally last about a week, rather than a systemic foundation of winning, which sustains a team and program throughout a long season. Yes, you can occasionally make nice comebacks with O’s empty slogans and Duke Riley pep talks.
But you do not consistently win SEC and National Championships that way. That is why, in the long run, this program will likely be set back at least twice the amount of years that O and Alleva are in charge.
Let’s see ... can he get Duke Riley to come give a pep talk to this incoming recruiting class which may be ranked well outside the top ten?

So a former player had to chew arse?
I heard this from a bud earlier today. Didn't think this was true.
But, un fricking real. Where the frick is the head coach? What are we paying this guy to do?

You do realize that coaches pay people hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to come in and give pep talks like that before big games, right?
This sounds even more fricking ridiculous. You need to pay someone to pep up your fricking team against a rival coming into your house?
I get some of the former players being there and bringing energy, problem is... Your two fricking losses too late.
Oh yeah, Coach O's redeeming quality other than his shite recruiting, he brings energy. No, that's the Les Miles player bringing it for you.

Well considering how they played the 1st QTR you could say it didn't do a lot. Apparently the coaches or the players themselves picked it up after that, made adjustments and put a 27-3 whoopin' on Auburn.

I know duke personally. For as happy go lucky as he is, he is equally, if not more fiery ESPECIALLY when it comes to football.. and I can also tell you that he loves LSU with a passion and it was killing him to see the team where it was at mentally
I would have loved to been in that room

That’s all beautiful lip service, but you have no frickin clue what goes on behind closed doors... none

How many coaches in CFB history have won national titles ‘consistently’? 3? 4 maybe? Stop talking out of your fricking arse

It just seems like Orgeron is picking out tricks from a bag to motivate this team. At what point is the team going to play to win because they're freaking LSU and that's what they're supposed to do?
Why dont you just go ahead and have your hysterectomy and get it over with you whiny, petulant bitch.
