I haven't read anything in this thread past the first few replies saying it's good which is what I wanted to see. I saw an ad for this yesterday and it really piqued my interest, this kinda thing is right up my alley. I can't wait to get started, although it'll probably have to wait til later in the week as the mrs and I have to finish Alaskan Bush people first

I'm really enjoying it. Has almost a Silence of the Lamb vibe. Different story line but still.

Someone must've started this show on my netflix account. I wasn't paying attention and put on the final episode instead of the first.
I thought it was a pretty decent opening episode...until I realized it was the finale. Not sure if I want to watch the whole thing now.

finished it yesterday
They definitely leave a lot left unexplored but the characters are great and the scratch just enough of the itch that it's satisfying.
Love the parallels between the people they interview and Holden.
Tench is my favorite though

Just finished season 1 last night.
I can't recommend this show enough.
It's great watching them figure out things that we now all take for granted from every other procedural.
If you like Criminal Minds this is an x rated Criminal Minds Origins

Yeah. I didn’t want to say in case somebody hadn’t put it together yet.
I had to Google it. I knew of the BTK killer, but I did not know specifics.

I finished episodes 1-7 and I can't decide if I'm going to finish the last three. I really enjoy the show, but Ford's character has become insufferable for me. Even from the beginning he irked me. I'm guessing part of the narrative is for his character to become that way over the course of the season, but it has become obnoxious to me.

I can't stop watching. I was up until midnight and tired as shite today because of this show.

That makes tons of sense...

I look at Holt McCallany and I see Ben Grimm.

Yeah, i figured there were probably going to be a decent number of younger people on the board that were still too young to remember the BTK killer. I was too young for his actual crimes, but i remember the news of his capture and reading all of the articles in the mid 2000's.
I also don't really think of him as being that infamous when compared to some of the other serial killers, so it's curious as to why they've chosen to place such an emphasis on him within the show. Can't wait to see how that plays out in the coming seasons.
I just wish there were 10 more episodes. that world and those characters had me totally hooked, and i didn't want it to end.

I watched it all. The interesting part is the interviews with real Life characters like Kemper and butros. Also the development of psychological profiling is interesting.
However outside of holt Macallany the acting is atrocious. The 2 female characters are bad. The gf of Ford is abysmal and serves no purpose to the story. Fast forward anytime she shows up.

The acting is weird. It has a Dragnet feel and cadence to it. I'm not a fan, but I figured it was on purpose.

Have you ever watched a David fincher show or movie?

Just finished the season and really enjoyed it. I’m starting to have a really hard time liking Holden, but that’s probably on purpose.
Contrary to some here, I like Debbie’s storyline because I think she shows Holden’s transformation from curious to functioning psychopath.
I also agree that the acting leaves a bit to be desired. Really enjoy Kemper and Tench. Their acting is top notch, imo.

This.
I don’t know how to explain it exactly but the acting is very Fincher-esque, if you will. Specifically Debbie. I find a lot of the same cadence and parallels to many of the women especially, in his movies. Ex. Rooney Mara in the social network, rosamund pike in Gone girl, Deborah Kara Unger in the game. It’s a very familiar style across his movies, sort of icy and withdrawn and just soaked in that sepia tone. I can understand some people not liking it though, but for me I don’t mind it and just reminds me I’m watching a Fincher project. But I couldn’t disagree more with the poster above that says the acting is atrocious, I don’t find that to be the case at all.
