re: LSU to implement new tailgate policies effective immediately.

Student organizations wishing to tailgate on the LSU Parade Ground will have a new set of guidelines following recent incidents of violence and drinking.
Each organization has between noon Monday and noon Wednesday the week before the game to register a tailgate. Each approved organization will have an assigned 30 x 30 feet area roped off by 10 unmovable trash cans. The organization cannot set up before 8 a.m. on gameday, and will be required to check-in with University officials upon arrival.
Organizations cannot have a tent larger than 10 x 10 feet, but can have up to four tents inside their area. The organization’s name must be posted on the tent, and they cannot have walls or binders to shield view.
Tailgates cannot have common source drink containers, glass containers, tablecloths, furniture (with the exception of folding chairs, lawn chairs and tables), stages or other structures, vehicles of any kind, tent walls, drapes or stakes to anchor tents. Tents must be anchored with weights that do not dig into the Parade Ground turf.

None of this seems outlandish, though a lot of it seems superfluous.
The biggest thing is that they're using the events prior to UT-C as supporting factors, but the stabbing didn't involve students, and Cast Boy isn't a student either.

I would think the individuals in these organizations should just informally decide to tailgate on the parade grounds....or some other part of campus like every tailgate does.

Sooo, can't they just move their tailgate from the parade ground and not have to follow these rules? I know there are a couple fraternities that already tailgate by Lockett.

I think all the rest is mostly ridiculous and over-the-top, but I'm fully supportive of this part. Fine them if they leave their spot trashed.
It's a huge problem at UGA too. Few things frustrate me more than seeing people leave campus in a fricking state of disgrace after tailgating.
They put trash cans everywhere! Clean up your shite! It would take 10 people about five minutes to clean up the trash from a tailgate.
